BTS Tops Oricon’s Year-End Artist Ranking

BTS is one of the most successful South Korean boy bands. The group consists of seven members which include RM, Jimin, V, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, and Jungkook. The group has been successful since the day of its debut.

For the second year, BTS has again topped the year-end artist ranking for 2022. BTS has again become the first foreign artist ever who topped Orion’s year-end artist ranking.

BTS became the best-selling artist of the year in Japan. The annual rankings are computed by adding up all of an artist’s singles, albums, and DVD sales for the year, as well as all of their streaming statistics.

On December 23, it was announced by Oricon that BTS again has ranked no. 1 on the year-end rankings of 2022.

The long-running success of BTS’s singles “Dynamite,” “Butter,” and “Permission to Dance,” as well as the strong digital download performance of their anthology album “Proof,” according to Oricon, all helped the group maintain their top spot for the second year in a row.

We were really grateful to be able to host performances in a variety of locations this year and interact with ARMY from around the globe. We’ll work to develop as musicians so that we might one day return that love with even better music. We are grateful to the Army for their unwavering love.”

The group has written songs that touch on a variety of topics, such as mental health, the difficulties of growing up and being an adolescent, loss, the road to self-love, individualism, and the impacts of popularity and celebrity.

According to the Circle Chart, BTS has sold more than 30 million albums, making them the most successful artist in South Korean history. The group has currently declared a brief hiatus in order to finish their military enlistment.

The oldest person in the group, Jin, enlisted in the military on December 14 to begin his service. In accordance with their schedules, the other group members will also complete their enlistment.
