The story of the series is an adaptation of The Lying Life of Adults, the latest novel written by the beloved Italian novelist Elena Ferrante.
In the year 2020, Netflix released a small teaser announcing the series and it was narrated by Italian singer Emma Marrone.

What is the plot of the series?
The story of The Lying Life of Adults series is set against the backdrop of 1990s Naples and basically follows the “turbulent transition from childhood to adolescence”.
Giovanna who is basically the protagonist of the story is searching for her reflection in two kindred cities that fear and detest one another. And at the same time the city seems without answer and without escape. She wants the answer for every of her questions by she is continuously failing to get it.
Giovanna’s father is of the opinion that she looks more like her Aunt Vittoria every day.
