The South Korean supergroup GOT the beat is going to make a comeback next year in January. The group has seven people as its members which include soloist BoA, Taeyeon, and Hyoyeon from Girls’ Generation, Seulgi and Wendy from Red Velvet, and Karina and Winter from Aespa.

The group is made up of girl group members from different k-pop girl groups like Red Velvet, aespa, and Girls’ Generation.

According to the reports from the media on December 23, it was announced that the group will be releasing a new song next month. Their agency, SM Entertainment too gave a statement after the news was out.

One of the sources of SM Entertainment said, “GOT the beat is preparing with the aim of making a comeback in January next year. Please show lots of interest.”

The group, GOT the beat is the first division of the project group Girls on Top. All the members of GOT the beat have been under SM Entertainment for a long time. BoA made her debut as a solo artist in 2000 at the age of 13.

In 2007, Taeyeon and Hyoyeon made their debut as members of the Girls’ Generation. In 2014, Seulgi and Wendy made their debut as a member of Red Velvet. Wendy, as a solo artist, made her debut in 2021. Lastly, Karina and Winter as members of Aespa made their debut in 2020.

The group’s “Step Back” the first single was made available on January 3, 2022, according to a statement made on December 28, 2021. On the Gaon Digital Chart, the song reached number 11, while on the Billboard World Digital Songs Chart, it peaked at number 5.

Before making their formal broadcast debut on the music show M Countdown almost a month later, the group debuted their first “Step Back” performance stage at the SM Town Live 2022: SMCU Express at Kwangya on January 1.

On January 30, Got the Beat received their first music show award on SBS’s Inkigayo. Now after almost a year, the group is going to make a comeback with a new song. The fans are eagerly waiting for it to be released.
