Jung E Netflix’s First Teaser Features Terrifying AI

Published by

Yeon Sang-ho, renowned for the zombie film Train to Busan and the Netflix series Hellbound, is back with his next project; Jung E.

Kim Hyun-Joo & Ryu Kyung-soo, both of whom starred in Hellbound, will be seen in the film, as will actress Kang Soo-Yeon, who sadly passed away this year. It will be available to watch on January 20, 2023.

JUNG_E Official Teaser Released on Netflix

The experiment’s achievement is credited to scientists Seo Hyun and Sang-hun. The former is the group leader of the laboratory that created brain cloning and artificial intelligence technologies, whereas the latter is its director.

The film, set in the 22nd century, depicts a planet that has become unsustainable due to climate change. In the middle of the destruction, an internal fight develops in the bunker built for human survival.

A researcher at an AI facility leads an attempt to end a civil war by replicating the brain of a courageous soldier who is her mother. The cloning project might hold the key to victory in the war.

In the new visual for JUNG E, we get the first look at the high-tech society of the 22nd century before it snaps in on close-ups of the brain cloning process, generating what the trailer terms an “AI combat warrior.” The teaser finishes just before the robot’s eyes open after installing the artificial brain.

The Cast and Crew of JUNG E

Kang Soo Yeon, an award-winning actress, will play the protagonist, Seo Hyun. Unfortunately, JUNG E is the actress’ final on-screen performance before her unexpected death from a brain hemorrhage on May 7, 2022, at 55.

Kim Hyun Joo will play Jung Yi, a former Allied Forces commander who is the subject of a brain cloning experiment.

Ryu Kyung Soo will play Sang Hoon, the leader of a research facility who must succeed in the brain cloning project.

JUNG E is filmmaker Yeon Sang Ho’s debut Netflix production. The Korean director is best recognized for his films Train to Busan and Hellbound, both aired on Netflix.

JUNG E is expected to be a great hit with South Korean sci-fi enthusiasts due to the current popularity of artificial intelligence, the proven originality of director Yeon Sang-ho, and the fact that this is Kang Soon-farewell Yeon’s film.

Fans cannot resist their enthusiasm for the movie now that the dystopian teaser has been out. It is scheduled to be released in a few days, so wait until then!
