Emily Blunt recently shared a story on the SmartLess podcast that involves Tom Cruise. Emily claimed that Tom swore at her on the sets of Edge of Tomorrow. Let’s see what actually happened.

In Edge of Tomorrow, Emily had to wear an enormous gigantic robotic suit that weighed around 38 kilograms. As claimed by Emily, the suit was really uncomfortable and dangerous. She started tearing up because of the exhaustion from wearing the heavy costume.

As Tom was standing beside Emily when this incident happened, he swore at her to give her some harsh motivation. Surprisingly, the swearing worked for Emily as it gave her the much-needed motivation that she needed at that time. Anyone will feel motivated if Tom swears at them, right?

In the SmartLess podcast, Emily quotes, “We had to wear these enormous suits, which I think would’ve been great if we had CGI’d them but we wanted to do it in a tactile way. When you hear the word tactile you think that sounds nice and cozy; there was nothing cozy about these suits. It was like 85lb (38 kg), it was so heavy.”

Emily shares how Tom swore at her, “He just stared at me for a long time, not knowing what to do, and he goes ‘come on, stop being such a pus*y, OK?'”

Emily also shared that while shooting Edge of Tomorrow, she got injured. Her ribs and collarbones were harmed because the heavy robotic costume that she shared could’ve been CGI’d. The production team of Edge of Tomorrow had to hire a male stunt double for Emily’s character in order to go in with the shooting.
