Sonic Prime Season 1: Netflix Release Date, Characters & More

Published by

Sonic Prime is described as follows on Netflix: When a run-in with Dr. Eggman leads to a literally universe-shattering incident, Sonic the Hedgehog’s action-packed escapades go into overdrive. Sonic speeds around the Shatterverse, encountering odd realms and joining new companions in an epic journey of a lifetime, desperately trying to put together his primary reality and save our old memories. The official release date for the movie is December 15th.

Since Sonic Prime was created by fans of the series, there’s plenty of content for them to enjoy as well. Logan McPherson, Senior VP of Creative at WildBrain, stated that the team loved Sonic on the “entire spectrum of the franchise” in a prior interview with Game Informer. This required adding subtle hints in addition to the more obvious Easter eggs that die-hard game fans need to be able to recognise.

What was wonderful was how the crew’s discussions about how to represent particular things and how it affected the series itself were driven by this enthusiasm, via Game Informer, he stated. “These fantastic concepts that audience will see in the series, such as how to execute offensive manoeuvres by Sonic or unique skills from some of the other characters, like Knuckles’ ability to glide and spin dash, all emerged from passionate staff discussions.

Sonic Prime Season 1 Voice Artists

Deven Christian Mack, who has a long list of voiceover credits including King Vangelis in LEGO: Ninjago, Chuck in Angry Birds: Summer Madness, and Wynton Styles in Bakugan: Battle Planet, will play the occurrence of extreme blue hedgehog. Knuckles’ voice was originally given by Brian Drummond in Sonic Underground, therefore the performer is probably coming the reprise the part.

Additionally, the new teaser hints a few Sonic Prime supporting cast members. Shadow, a black hedgehog that is an antihero and won’t hesitate to shoot down his opponents, is the main opponent that Sonic faces up against. Additionally, Shadow made an appearance in the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 mid-credits sequence, suggesting that the character may have his theatrical premiere after first appearing on Netflix.

The series will feature Big the Cat and Froggy in some capacity, according to the Sonic Prime promo. That shouldn’t come as a surprise given that the Shatterverse makes it possible for all of the Sonic characters to attend the event. There are going to be total of 24 episodes, it has been announced. Each episode has an about 30-minute duration. It’s improbable that Netflix would distribute all episodes across many volumes, portions, or seasons rather than releasing them all at once.
