The iPad Pro 2022 is barely distinguishable from the iPad Pro 2021 & iPad Pro 2020 in terms of design. This is alright because its thin bezels and elegant machined aluminum body are still as eye-catching as ever.
The only shades available are Space Gray and Silver. This might disappoint those who hoped the iPad Pro would come in as many colors as the new iPad 2022.
The size and weight of the iPad Pro 2022 are the same as those of the model from the prior year: 11.04 x 8.46 x 0.25 inches and 1.5 pounds. The Magic Keyboard adds 3 pounds to the weight.
In terms of buttons and ports, nothing has changed. When holding the iPad vertically like a sheet of paper, there’s a button along the top right edge for locking the screen and utilizing Touch ID, two buttons on the right edge to raise or reduce the volume, and a single Thunderbolt 4/USB-C connector on the bottom edge.
Price and Availability of iPad Pro 2022
The new iPad Pro 2022 is now available from Apple’s online store. The 11-inch iPad Pro starts at $799, while the 12.9-inch iPad Pro costs $1,099; however, entry-level devices will only support Wi-Fi.
The 11-inch iPad Pro with Wi-Fi + Cellular starts at $999. The 12-inch Wi-Fi + Cellular model costs $1,299.

Features
The Apple Pencil remains accurate, with helpful tilt detection and a good level of pressure sensing. However, drawing the solid plastic nib on the glass screen also seems complicated, which I don’t mind, but some might.
The fancy new function is ‘hover over’ sensing, which appears to be enabled on the new gadget through a co-processor within the M2 chip.
Anyone who has used a drawing tablet will recognize the fundamental feature: when you bring the Pencil near the screen, the iPad can detect it and react.

Performance of iPad Pro 2022
The M2 chip is the big talking point in this, and it’s a monster. It has an eight-core CPU with four high-speed performance cores & four energy-efficient cores. This is combined with 8GB of RAM in the 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB models and 16GB of RAM in the 1TB and 2TB models.
For those working in a wireless environment with support, the addition of Wi-Fi 6E is a great touch. This new, faster Wi-Fi version hides its data from the rest of the network, ensuring stable and high-speed rates.

The camera quality of the iPad Pro 2022
The cameras on the new iPad Pro are the same as those on the previous model. Depending on your expectations, this might be both a plus and a negative. This back camera is excellent – it takes pictures with superb brightness, pleasant contrast, beautiful colors, and reasonable detail.
The front camera is 12MP with an ultra-wide lens for Apple’s Center Stage function. This implies that the camera crops into a piece of its overall ultra-wide view to focus on you. The back camera can record 4K 60fps video.
Battery Life
Apple’s claim, as usual, is that the iPad Pro (2022) has up to 10 hours of battery life for basic operations like video and web surfing, and we’ve previously said that Apple’s predictions are strict.
Verdict
The iPad Pro 12.9 (2022) adds extra power and hover-detection for the Apple Pencil, which is hardly a significant improvement over the previous model.
However, the latter is a fantastic feature that’s been executed well, solidifying the iPad Pro as the preferred sketching tablet.
Thanks in part to a screen that is still best-in-class and a selection of software superior for the form factor than anything else on the market, these changes assure that it will continue to be the ultimate tablet powerhouse.
