After this incident, Lee Seung Gi asked the company for a transparent disclosure of his payments. On November 21, it was disclosed that the actor has not received a penny for his music for 18 years and the 5 years’ worth of statement was also missing.

The CEO of Hook Entertainment responded to it claiming that the fact-checking is under process. In response to this Lee Seung Gi’s legal representative claimed that in response to his request for settlement information, Lee Seung Gi was insulted and threatened. He had never been informed of the money he had made from his music.

On November 30, the CEO of Hook Entertainment, Kwon Jin Young, said that she would be fully accountable for the dispute surrounding Lee Seung Gi’s unpaid music profits and that she would sell her personal property to fulfill that obligation. She gave an official statement regarding this which is as follows:

“This is Kwon Jin Young, CEO of Hook Entertainment.

I have 25 years of experience as a manager. Even though a lot has happened, it seems like this is the first time I have gone through something this challenging.

Any argument or misunderstanding should, in my opinion, be followed at both the beginning and the finish with responsibility. I don’t want to destroy Hook Entertainment, the business I’ve built up over the past 25 years, or the artists represented by the agency. I apologize once more and bend my head once more.

Additionally, I will accept full responsibility for the disagreement with Lee Seung Gi, and I won’t abdicate my duty and even sell off my possessions to fulfill it.

I apologize to everyone who heard about this unwelcome news as well as to the entire employees of Hook Entertainment, who had to be going through hell every day as a result of the unexpected occurrence.”
