Is 1899 a Copy of Dark?
Although it’s of the same genre as that Dark, 1899 is not just a copy. It’s far more than that. The story begins with immigrants on a steamship traveling from London caught up in a mysterious riddle after finding a second vessel adrift on the open sea.

Due to delays in filming, 1899 season 1 which started filming around May 2021, wrapped up its shooting by November 2021 and we finally saw it premiere in November 2022. So it took almost two years to make one season. By this calculation, we can expect 1899 Season 2 to premiere in 2024 or 2025.

What could be the Plot of Season 2?
The ending of Season 1, gave us some idea that the writers are ready to set the story furthermore. Spoiler Alerts, the season ended with Maura learning some confusing facts. In order to save the passengers, she has to confront her brother, and finally, it ends with an ominous message from that very sibling. Season 2, if created, would start with this very plot.
