The South Korean television series “The King’s Affection” has successfully grabbed an award at the 50th International Emmy Awards.
The drama starred Park Eun-bin, Rowoon, Nam Yoon-su, Choi Byung-chan, Bae Yoon-kyung, and Jung Chae-yeon. It had 20 episodes in total and was aired from October 11 to December 14, 2021, on KBS2. It was also available on Netflix in some regions.
The International Emmy Award show took place in New York on November 21. Many actors and actresses attended the award show. Among the nominated dramas for the Best Telenovela award, the South Korean drama “The King’s Affection” won the award.
The dramas which were nominated in these categories include “Nos Tempos do Imperador” from Brazil, “Two Lives” from Spain, and “You Are My Hero” from China. The series is based on Lee So-young’s manhwa Yeonmo, which places the protagonist’s birth in 1461.
The drama depicts a story that took place during the Joseon Dynasty, a time when having twins was viewed as a bad omen. When the Crown Princess Consort gives birth to twins, the daughter is sent away. She later returns dressed as a man to take the throne as the Crown Prince following the passing of her twin brother.

K-Drama The King’s Affection Wins at the International Emmys.
In addition to the Best Telenovela Award, the drama “The King’s Affection” has won numerous other awards as well. In Korean Broadcasting Awards 2022, Park Eun Bin won the Best Actor/Actress Award.
In Korea First Brand Award show 2021, the actress Jung Chae Yeon won under the category of Female Acting Idol.
Along with these in KBS Drama Awards 2021 the drama “The King’s Affection” was not only nominated but has also won awards in different categories. Park Eun Bin and Rowoon took away the Best Couple award, Rowoon grabbed another award in the category of Best New Actor, and Choi Myung Bin won the Best Young Actress award.
In addition to the Best New Actor award, Rowoon won the Popularity Award, Actor. Park Eun Bin won another two awards one in the category of Popularity Award, Actress, and another in Top Excellence Award, Actress.
The writer of the drama “The King’s Affection” in the Seoul International Drama Awards, won under the category of Best Writer. The drama has been able to win numerous awards in different award shows in different categories and grabbing an award in International Emmy is no less than an achievement.
