1889 is an upcoming German multi-language epic period mystery horror streaming television series created by Janette Friense and Baran BO Oder set to release on Netflix on 17th November 2022.
A group of European migrants leaves London on a steamship to start new light in New York city but when they encounter another migrant ship drift on the open journey begins to turn into a nightmare.

The storyline of the film 1889:
1899 follows a group of immigrants background traveling from Europe to New York in charge of new opportunities sent in the year 1899 just at the turn of the new and latest century, the passages are united in optimism about what the future holds they encounter another migrant- ship adrift on the open sea.

Release Date
Netflix released the first two episodes of 1899 at the 2022 edition of the Tornado International Film Festival back in September. 1889 premier on November 17, 2022.
So fans of Dark don’t have much longer to watch the new series from the creators of the aforementioned series.
The pilot episode is titled the ship and the series has 8 episodes, with each episode running for 60 minutes.
Many people think that this story is based on the book, but it isn’t correct, it’s not a true story.

Development:
On 13th November 2018, it was announced that dark creators Jantje Friense and Baran bo Odar were developing the project for Netflix under their overall deal at the streaming service. This reach was confirmed to be moving forward weeks later during the Netflix press conference showcasing Europe’s original programming.
By July 2020 Bo Odar revealed via Instagram that Friese had completed writing the script for the pilot episode during an interview with Deadline Hollywood.
Filming:
Production for the series officially commenced on 24th November 2020 with a week-long length test taking place; this work was initially scheduled to begin principal photography on 1st February 2021 but was later pushed back 3 months before officially beginning on 3rd May 2021 at studio Babels berg on Potsdam.
