Selena Gomez Named Her Transplanted Kidney ‘I Love Portlandia’ After Fred Armisen

“I named it after Fred Armisen because I adore Portlandia,” the Only Murders in the Building star, Selena Gomez 30, told Rolling Stone in a November 3 interview. “I’ve never met him, but I’m secretly hoping he finds out just so he can say, ‘That’s crazy.’”

While the 55-year-old Saturday Night Live star has not responded to Gomez’s homage, she has been open about her health battle over the years.

“I’m aware that some of my fans noticed I was lying low for a portion of the summer and wondered why I wasn’t promoting my new song, which I was pleased of.”

So I learned that I required a kidney transplant due to my lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my general health,” the Rare Beauty entrepreneur stated on Instagram in September 2017, two years after being diagnosed.

“I lost my mind,” she continued. ‘Hey, you’re not a horrible person, you’re not a gross person, you’re not any of this,’ it said. However, you will have to cope with this. I realize it’s a lot, but it’s the truth.’
