The Swimmer Official Trailer Breakdown

Published by

The Swimmer Update: Netflix has a flair for growing its collection in every category, particularly true-life inspirational stories, which have racked up within the world’s largest streaming platform. Netflix has released a trailer for The Swimmers, a forthcoming drama about two siblings who created history via athletics.

The plot revolves around war-torn Syria and the 2016 Rio Olympics, during which the two young sisters went on a dangerous trip as refugees, putting their hearts and champion swimming abilities to heroic use while putting their lives in danger. The film will be released in select cinemas in November.

The Swimmers will be available on Netflix on November 23, 2022.

In the story of Yusra Mardini (Nathalie Issa) and Sara Mardini (Manal Issa), three significant plotlines are revealed in the trailer for The Swimmers: their training and competition days in war-torn civil Syria, their frightening experience in a rescue boat with a group of individuals who fled the country with them, and Yusra’s winning round the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.

Furthermore, the trailer depicts Yusra’s sister’s difficulties. Sisters Yusra and Sara Mardini left Syria in 2015 after their home was devastated during the civil war. They traveled to Lebanon, then Turkey, where they planned to be smuggled into Greece in a dinghy.

The migrants, however, were in the middle of the Aegean Sea when the engine of the overloaded boat failed. The duo, together with two others who could swim, were accountable for saving the lives of everybody on board.

In addition, Yusra swam in two swimming events as part of the Refugee Olympic squad just a year after their horrific ordeal. Although biographies are not meant to be funny, their moving moments can bring viewers to tears.

The Swimmers is a terrible experience of two sisters, not your ordinary motivating narrative. It emphasizes the precarious situation of Syrian survivors and the desire of two young girls, one of whom was unable to achieve due to their tragic fate.
