My Policeman Release Date, Cast, and Everything about Harry Styles Starrer Romantic Drama

Michael Grandage has directed the romantic movie My Policeman starring Harry Styles which is adapted from the same named novel of 2012. This marks the second film Styles that got released this year.

It uses a screenplay by Ron Nyswaner and is produced by Greg Berlanti, Philip Herd, Cora Palfrey, Robbie Rogers, and Sarah Schechter.

Plot Line of ‘My Policeman’:

The plot of the movie My Policeman is set in Brighton in the 1950s. It revolves around a policeman named Tom Burgess who is gay. He marries Marion Taylor, a school teacher.

In spite of that, he falls in love with a museum curator Patrick Hazlewood, But the secrets that inhibit all of their lives, threaten them to cast aside the hope of peaceful life.

The three lead characters around whom the story is weaved, are portrayed by Harry Styles, Emma Corrin, and David Dawson.

Harry Styles and Linus Roache-

Policeman Tom Burgess is played by Harry Styles in the movie. Though British actor Linus Roache appears as older Tom Burgess. Roache is a fifty-eight years old actor who starred in films like ‘Best’, ‘Pandaemonium’, ‘Blind Flight’, ‘Batman Begins, ‘Non-Stop’, ‘The Last Full Measure, ‘A Call to Spy’ etc, and in tv series such as ‘Coronation Street, ‘Law & Order, ‘Vikings‘, ‘Homeland’ etc.

Harry Styles is widely known as a famous English singer and songwriter. Though his popularity largely lies on his being a member of the pop-boy band ‘One Direction, he has released a number of popular solo songs.

Styles began acting professionally in 2017. In 2017 Christopher Nolan directed the war film ‘Dunkirk’ in which an ensemble cast starred that includes Harry Styles in the role of Alex. He co-starred with Fionn Whitehead, Tom Glynn-Carney, Kenneth Branagh, etc.

In 2021 he made a cameo appearance in Macy’s superhero movie ‘Eternals‘ as Eros aka Starfox. In 2022 Styles made his film role debut in the psychological thriller movie ‘Don’t Worry Darling‘ with Florence Pugh in the other lead role. The name of Styles’ character was Jack Chambers and that of Pugh was Alice Chambers.

Emma Corrin and Gina McKee-

Emma Corrin, who gained the most recognition after her portrayal of Princess Diana in Netflix’s popular historical drama series ‘The Crown‘, has starred as Burgess’ wife Marion Taylor in the movie. English actress Gina McKee played the old Marion Taylor.

Burgess’ boyfriend Patrick Hazlewood is starred by English actor David Dawson in the movie. British actor Rupert Everett is seen as an older Hazlewood. Everett’s previous films are ‘Dance with a Stranger, ‘The Madness of King George’, ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream, ‘To Kill a King’, ‘Stage Beauty’, ‘St. Trinian’s, ‘St Trinian’s 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold, ‘A Royal Night Out, ‘The Happy Prince, ‘Warning’ etc.

Hir previous television credits include ‘Princess Daisy’, ‘Les Liaisons dangerousness, ‘Parade’s End etc.

Dawson is an English actor who also has starred in a number of films. He was cast in the movies Gracie!’, ‘The Road to Coronation Street, ‘Banished’, ‘The Last Kingdom‘, ‘Year of the Rabbit’ etc.

Kadiff Kirwan-

Another character named Nigel has been played by British-Montserratian actor Kadiff Kirwan in the movie. In the British tv sitcom, Kirwan was cast as Jason co-starring with Elis James, Lashana Lynch, etc.

From 2015 to 2017 he starred as Aaron in the British tv sitcom Chewing Gum’. In the 2019 British comedy series ‘This Way Up’ he played Bradley who is the flatmate of the lead character Áine, played by Aisling Bea. Then in the mystery thriller miniseries, ‘The Stranger’ Kirwan appeared as Detective Constable Wesley Ross in 2020.

In the 2021 three-part series ‘Time’ he played the role of Pete and this year the role of Julian in Adam Kay’s British medical comedy tv series ‘This Is Going to Hurt’. This year he also portrayed Marcus Longridge in season two of the spy thriller ‘Slow Horses’ as a recurring character.

Amazon Prime Video released the official trailer of the movie My Policeman on September 7, 2022, on YouTube.

The movie first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11 and got released in the United States on October 21. On Prime Video the movie will arrive on the 4th of November this year.
