Netflix has announced the return of Hellbound Season 2. Yeon Sang-ho directed the South Korean dark fantasy series ‘Hellbound’ which is adapted from the same named webtoon by Sang-ho himself. Choi Gyu-seok has written the screenplay for the series. The series premiered at Toronto International Film Festival in 2021.
After the massive success of ‘Squid Game‘, this series followed in its footsteps. Only on the second day of release, ‘Hellbound’ surpassed ‘Squid Game’ and became the most-watched Netflix series in the world.

Plot Line of ‘Hellbound’:
The primary premise of the series revolves around a group of individuals who are sent to hell by the condemnations of unearthly beings.
Also, two organizations- New Truth Society and Arrowhead group emerge to play on people’s fear and gain power in the name of divine justice. The story reflects the real-life attitude of religion through its portrayal.

Cast Members of ‘Hellbound’ Season 2:
Almost all the cast members of season one are presumed to return for of Hellbound Season 2.
Yoo Ah-in- A cult leader of the New Truth Society Jeong Jin-soo is portrayed by South Korean actor Yoo Ah-in in the series. Ah-in starred in the films Antique’, ‘Punch’, ‘Tough as Iron’, ‘Thread of Lies, ‘Veteran’, ‘The Throne, ‘Like for Likes’, ‘Burning’, ‘Default’, ‘#Alive’, ‘Voice of Silence’, ‘Seoul Vibe’ etc.
He will also appear in the upcoming movies ‘The Match’ and ‘Hi. 5’.
Ah-in’s television credits include ‘Sharp’, ‘Strongest Chil Woo’, ‘He Who Can’t Marry’, ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’, ‘Fashion King’, ‘Jang Ok-jung, Living by Love, ‘Secret Affair’, ‘Six Flying Dragons, ‘Chicago Typewriter’ etc. He will also star in the upcoming series ‘Goodbye Earth’ which is currently under filming.
Kim Hyun-joo-
Attorney Min Hyejin is played by South Korean actress Kim Hyun-joo in the series. Hyun-joo appeared in the films Star Runner’ and ‘Shinsukki Blues’.
She also starred in the historical K-drama The Merchant’ in the role of Park Da-nyung in 2001. Next year she was also cast in 2002 series ‘Glass Slippers’ as Kim Yoon-hee/Lee Sun-woo. Hyun-joo portrayed Kim Eun-jae in 2004 series ‘Ms. Kim’s Million Dollar Quest’.
The same year she also starred in the series ‘Toji, the Land’ as Choi Seo-hee. Next year she was cast as Han Eun-young in the K-drama ‘Marrying a Millionaire’.
In the 2007 South Korean series ‘In-soon is pretty’ she starred as Park In-sun. Hyun-joo’s other primary television roles include ‘Twinkle Twinkle’, ‘Dummy Mommy’, ‘Blooded Palace: The War of Flowers’, ‘What Happens to My Family?’, ‘I Have a Lover’, ‘Fantastic’, ‘The Miracle We Met’, ‘Watcher’, and ‘Undercover’.
Hyun-joo’s upcoming series are ‘Trolley’ and ‘The Bequeathed’.
Park Jeong-min-
Another individual in the series Bae Young-jae is the production director of a broadcasting station and is played by South Korean actor Park Jeong-min.
His film credits include ‘Bleak Night’, ‘Dancing Queen’, ‘Fists of Legend’, ‘The Flu’, ‘Hot Young Bloods’, ‘Tinker Ticker’, ‘Office’, ‘Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet’, ‘Pure Love’, ‘Keys to the Heart’, ‘Psychokinesis’, ‘Sunset in My Hometown’, ‘Svaha: The Sixth Finger’, ‘Tazza: One Eyed Jack’, ‘Start-Up’, ‘Time to Hunt’, ‘Deliver Us from Evil’, ‘Miracle: Letters to the President, and ‘One Win’.
Jeong-min’s previous television credits include ‘Adolescence Medley’ as Shin Young-bok, ‘You’re All Surrounded’ as Ji Gook, ‘Righteous Love’ as Jang Ki-tae, and ‘Entourage’ as Lee Ho-jin.
Won Jin-ah-
Bae Young-jae’s wife Song So-hyun is played by South Korean actress Won Jin-ah in the series. Jin-ah has starred in the films Steel Rain’, ‘Money’, ‘Long Live the King’, ‘Voice’, and ‘A Year-End Medley’.
From 2017 to 2018 she portrayed Ha Moon-soo in the K-drama Rain of Shine’. She also played Lee No-eul in the 2018 K-drama Life’. The next year in ‘Melting Me Softly’ she played the main role of Go Mi-ran.
And in 2021 before being cast in ‘Hellbound’ Jin-ah starred as Yoon Song-ah in the K-drama ‘She Would Never Know’.
Yang Ik-june-
Detective Jin Kyeong-hoon is played by South Korean actor cum director Yang Ik-june.
He acted in the films Maundy Thursday’ (as Hwan-kyu), ‘Breathless’ (as Sang-hoon), ‘Our Homeland’ (as Mr. Yang), ‘Inspiring Generation’ (as Hwang Bong-shik), ‘It’s Okay, That’s Love’ (as Jang Jae-beom), ‘Intimate Enemies’ (as Eumbuki), ‘The Scholar Who Walks the Night (as Hae-seo), ‘A Quiet Dream’ (as Ik-june), ‘Canola’ (Choong-seop), ‘Queen of Mystery’ (as Jang Do-jang), ‘The Poet and the Boy’ (as Hyon Taek-gi), ‘Bad Guys 2’ (as Jang Sung-cheol), ‘Wilderness: Part One and Two’ (as Kenji), ‘To. Jenny’ (as Kim Hyung-soo) among which he served as director for ‘Breathless’.

Trailer and Release Date of ‘Hellbound’ Season 2:
No official trailer has yet been released for the Hellbound Season 2 series by Netflix. But at the TUDUM event of Netflix on September 24, 2022, an announcement video was released. We do not know about the release date of this upcoming season, but it may come the next year.
