One of the most popular coming-of-age dramas on Netflix, Never Have I Ever is definitely a series Netflix viewers keep waiting for to discover new seasons. Never Have I Ever Season 4 is going to be the final one as is confirmed.
The show began with high school student Devi being a shy nerd with very little confidence in her social life and suffering from physical and mental disorders after her father’s unexpected death.
Gradually she learns to develop confidence and goes through boyfriend dilemmas with her friends growing and maturing too. Before Season 4 hits the streaming site, let us recap how far we have come with Devi after three seasons and what new the next season will gift us.
Recap of Never Have I Ever Season 1:
Devi Vishwakumar, a fifteen years old Indian American Tamil girl suffering from psychological trauma, hallucination, and a period of leg paralysis, has a crush on a hot and popular boy Paxton.
She also has an academic nemesis named Ben. Devi’s close friends Eleanor and Fabiola go through their own struggles in their lives. The season also introduces Devi’s mother Nalini and her cousin Kamala. Devi falls into a romantic situation with both Paxton and Ben.

Recap of Never Have I Ever Season 2:
In this Devi faces the prospect of two potential boyfriends- Ben and Paxton. By this time the series got so popular, that fans divided themselves into team Ben and team Paxton according to who they think is a better match for Devi.
Meanwhile, Devi, unable to come to a decision about whom she should date, begins to date both. But when a fiasco happens and both of them discover that Devi has been cheating, she makes them angry and Paxton is left with a broken arm after being hit by a car while angrily leaving Devi and being chased by her.
A new girl Aneesha comes to school with whom Devi does not get along at first but eventually makes friends.
Aneesha and Ben begin to be engaged. With the progress of the series, Paxton gets over her betrayal and both of them reconcile with Paxton declaring himself her boyfriend at the end.

Recap of Never Have I Ever Season 3:
Devi and Paxton come before everyone as a couple, though other students seem unable to accept this relationship causing Devi to feel insecure. On the other hand, Aneesha breaks up with Ben after realizing that he is still hung up on Devi.
One of Paxton’s exes causes Devi to express her jealousy which leads Paxton to break up with her. The season introduces another Indian son Des whom Devi dates despite the former’s hesitation about her and Paxton. The relationship ends quickly.
Aneesha and Fabiola start dating this season. At the end of the season, Devi finds it difficult to cope with the fact that she is the only one left virgin in her friend circle. The season ends with her and Ben closing Ben’s bedroom and kissing behind it.

Announcement of ‘Never Have I Ever Season 4:
Though no official trailer has arrived yet, Netflix has released a Coming Soon video featuring Maitreyi (Devi) reading her script and discussing it with Darren (Paxton) and Jaren (Ben).
They read another character Ethan’s name in their script just when Michael Cimino calls in Devi’s phone declaring that he is the new cast member of the show playing the new character Ethan.

The ending of the last season made viewers speculate about a possible relationship between Ben and Devi. Canadian actress Maitreyi Ramakrishnan will be reprising her role of Devi in the new season with Darren Barnet as Paxton and Jaren Lewison as Ben.
Ramona Young, Lee Rodriguez, Poorna Jagannathan, and Richa Moorjani are assumedly set to return as Eleanor, Fabiola, Nalini, and Kamala respectively. Michael Cimino will be seen joining the cast of ‘Never Have I Ever season four.
The series is created by Mindi Kaling and Lang Fisher and the story is inspired by Kaling’s childhood experience. Though in an interview Kaling has told that she was shy like Devi, but was not confident like her. Kaling, Fisher along with Howard Klein, David Miner, and Tristram Shapeero serve as executive producers of the show.
The series has obtained an appraisal for containing unprejudiced South Asian representation. The three seasons of the series scored 95%, 94%, and again 95% on Rotten Tomatoes respectively.
The first season was released on Netflix on April 27, 2020, with a second season being renewed on July 1 of that year which premiered on July 15 of 2021. The last season got renewed on August 19 and released on August 12, 2022. The fourth season which is set to be the final one will arrive in 2023.
