Apple iPad Pro: Design, Pricing, Features, and More!

Published by

The new Apple iPad Pro (2022) comes with the same Apple M2 processor as Macbook Laptops. Unfortunately, there aren’t many more noticeable improvements – the cameras are the same as last year, as is the general appearance. Still, that M2 CPU should be robust for the new iPad OS 16.1’s multi-screen, multitasking features.

This year, Apple hasn’t modified the design of the iPad Pro (2022), which is fine, though a few additional color options besides silver and space gray would have been good.

The magnetic connector on the side for peripherals is included on the 11-inch and 12.9-inch models, as well as a USB-C port with Thunderbolt 4 capability. In addition, the iPad Pro has two speakers on top and two on the bottom (2022).

While Apple has begun eliminating the SIM card slot from US iPhone 14 family handsets, the cellular variants retain it.

While the camera on the iPad Pro (2022) did not receive a significant boost this year, the tablet’s videography capabilities have increased significantly owing to the new Apple M2 chip.

The primary camera remains a 12MP shooter, with even a 10MP ultra-wide camera on the side. On the front panel is a TrueDepth 12MP selfie camera with facial unlocking capabilities.

The new iPad Pro comes in two sizes: 11-inch and 12.9-inch. The new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models will be available in silver & space grey finishes, with storage options of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. In addition, the Wi-Fi model of the 11-inch iPad Pro costs $985.86, while the Wi-Fi + Cellular model costs $1,166.42.

Battery Life

Apple

Apple claims that the iPad Pro (2022) will have a battery life of up to 10 hours while online browsing or streaming video over Wi-Fi and nine hours when using cellular. The 11-inch iPad Pro has a 28.65-watt-hour battery, while the 12.9-inch iPad Pro has a 40.88-watt-hour battery.

Features

The most significant change to the iPad Pro (2022) is the Apple M2 processor inside, which is also included in Apple’s Macbook and Macbook Pro notebooks. It will support more complex, higher-resolution video and audio formats, such as Apple ProRes video recordings.

Because the iPad Pro screen can sense when the Pencil 2 is within 12mm of it, developers will be able to construct interactions while the pen is hovering. This is particularly noticeable in painting and design applications, but Apple also demonstrated how the hover functions would be utilized throughout the operating system.

For example, when you hover your mouse over a text box, it expands and allows you to write with a pencil. The latest iPad Pro (2022) features improved handwriting recognition capability.
