KARA Announces a Comeback with Album

Published by

The South Korean k-pop girl group KARA is finally going to make a comeback. The group was founded in 2007 by DSP Media. Gyuri, Seungyeon, Hara, and Youngji formed the final line-up of the group. Sunghee quit the group in 2008, while Nicole and Jiyoung made their formal exits from it in 2014.

In a statement released on September 19th, RBW stated, “KARA will release an album to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their debut in November. As this will be a 15th-anniversary album that hasn’t been released in a while, we plan to support KARA members to express their wishes to their fans as much as possible.”

On October 18 at midnight KST, the female group unveiled their first comeback teaser poster. The 15th-anniversary album’s title, “Move Again,” appeared on the teaser artwork alongside a silhouette of each of the five members against a grey background.

More About KARA’s Comeback.

KARA’s full album is the group’s first in seven years since the release of the seventh mini album, “In Love,” in May 2015. It is significant because it features all five of the group’s former members—Park Gyuri, Han Seung Yeon, Heo Young Ji, Nicole, and Kang Ji Young—who parted ways in 2014.

The 15th-anniversary album for KARA will be published by RBW, which bought KARA’s first management company DSP Media. The group members have uploaded the teaser image on their Instagram account and the fans are loving it.

They are showering all their love on the poster and group in the comments. Some of the comments include, “Omg, I’m so ready. Kara is back, everyone.”, “Our queen is back!! KARA!!”, “I’m really looking forward to it.”, “I can’t believe I can see them together again” and so on.

The group, which was initially formed as a quartet, made its debut in March 2007 with the release of its debut studio album The First Blooming, and its lead song “Break It,” both of which had a strong female aesthetic and an advanced R&B sound.

The group was the second-best girl group in Korea in 2010 after being named No. 5 in 2010 and No. 6 in 2009 by Gallup Korea. Additionally, they were included at Nos. 4 and 13, respectively, on the Forbes Korea Power Celebrity lists from February 2012 and 2013.
