The actor Noah Centineo will play Owen Hendricks, a CIA lawyer in the Recruit. The latter becomes involved in worldwide power politics when a former asset threatens to expose the organization in the new program, announced at the streamer’s TUDUM event over the weekend.

Netflix stated at Netflix Tudum 2022 that the series The Recruit would release globally on December 16th, 2022, accompanied by a first-look picture.

Noah Centineo is no stranger to the spotlight. From To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before to Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, the actor has become accustomed to being on everyone’s Netflix crush radar. Now, in his new series, The Recruit, he’s back to espionage.

Centineo plays Owen Hendricks, a new CIA lawyer whose first week on the job goes awry. Owen becomes caught in a dangerous and ridiculous world of power politics and mischievous actors after receiving a threatening letter from former asset Max Meladze (Laura Haddock), who threatens to expose the agency unless they exonerate her of a severe crime.

As if the stakes weren’t already high enough, he now has to traverse the world in the hopes of finishing his job and creating a name for himself at the CIA.

According to Production Weekly, the following limited series is in active development at Netflix as of July 2021, with a production start date of October 2021 in Montreal, Canada.

The production period lasted from October 25th, 2021, until March 28th, 2022. It was shot in various locations, including Montreal, Quebec, and Los Angeles, California.

How many episodes will the forthcoming series have?

Deadline has revealed that the limited series would consist of eight hour-long episodes.

Noah Centineo will assume the leading role of a young lawyer who becomes involved in a risky CIA case.

Centineo is most known for his work in the To All the Boys flicks, the Charlie’s Angels revival, and The Fosters, and he’ll be portraying Atom Smasher with Dwayne Johnson in the next DCEU feature Black Adam.

Netflix revealed the rest of the cast members for the upcoming series in November 2021:

  • Aarti Mann plays Violet (Never Have I Ever, The Big Bang Theory).
  • Terence is played by Daniel Quincy Annoh (Americanah, Bus Stop).
  • Walter Nyland is played by Vondie Curtis Hall (Harriet, For The People).
  • Janus Ferber is played by Kristian Bruun (Orphan Black, Ready or Not).
  • Max is played by Laura Haddock (White Lines, The Capture).
  • Lester is played by Colton Dunn (Superstore, Blockers).
  • Hannah is played by Fivel Stewart (Umma, Atypical).
  • Byron Mann plays Xander.
  • Angel Parker plays Dawn.
  • Linus Roache plays Senator Smoot.
  • Kaylah Zander plays Amelia.

Hawley will also serve as showrunner and writer, while Doug Liman will direct. Liman’s achievements include Edge of Tomorrow, starring Tom Cruise, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, and The Bourne Identity, starring Matt Damon, among many more.
