Joshua Bassett Shades Olivia Rodrigo After Their Break-up

It’s hard to think it’s been almost a year since Olivia Rodrigo’s song “Drivers License” and the turmoil that surrounded it took over our lives. For a time, it seemed like all anybody could talk about was Olivia, Joshua Bassett, and Sabrina Carpenter‘s apparent love triangle. To be honest, we’re still not over everything that happened.

However, the drama is not going away. On TikTok, Joshua Bassett recently shaded Olivia Rodrigo. The High School Musical: Musical: The Series actor revealed his love in a TikTok video, and spoiler alert…not it’s Olivia.

On October 11, 2022, Joshua Bassett released a TikTok with a letter filter in which he wonders who his life’s love is. Using that filter josh said “First letter is my life’s love,”  and when the letter ‘O’ popped up his expression was evidently stunned, implying that it may have been Olivia.

“Second letter is the love of my life,” he added while tapping the screen. However then the letter ‘Q’ appeared, to which he jokingly said, “OK, I’ll take it.”

Many fans were taken aback by his daring in posting it. “YOU DID NOT,” one person pointed out. “Imagine if he received an S after the O,” added another, referring to the year-old “driver’s license” scandal.

Here is more about Joshua Bassett, Olivia Rodrigo Sabrina Carpenter, and Love Triangle.

Joshua Bassett

For those unfamiliar with the “driver’s license” saga, Olivia is said to have written the song about her High School Musical: The Musical: The Series co-star Joshua. It’s been reported that the two dated, and Joshua afterward went on with another Disney co-star Sabrina Carpenter.

When “driver’s license” was released in January 2021, the Internet went crazy because Olivia sings about how her ex is now seeing “that blonde chick” who is “so much older” than her. As many fans began decoding the songs written by Joshua, Sabrina, and Olivia, Sabrina was widely hinted to be the “blonde girl.”

However, it appears that all three have moved on from the drama. On May 5, 2022, Sabrina and Olivia were observed conversing at the 2022 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Sour singer and the Emails I Can’t Send artist were photographed in the background of a Sebastian Stan image.

Aside from that, it appears like The High School Musical: Musical: The Series cast members can finally put all of the turmoil behind them and work together as a pair for the renewal of their show.

Whatever the reason may be, Olivia has said goodbye to her Disney+ program. Olivia attended the launch of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series season 3 on July 27, 2022, to mark her formal exit from the Disney+ program. On the red carpet, she was all smiles and even posed with her reported ex, Joshua, while holding up peace signs.

Since then, it appears that the former co-stars have been on good terms. On September 23, Joshua published a new EP, Sad Songs in a Hotel Room, and is presently working on his first album and filming season 4 of HSM:TM: TS. In his spare time, he uploads fun videos on TikTok and interacts with his fans on Discord.
