Miss Scarlet and The Duke: Season 3 Update: The British-Irish period crime television drama gets an extension for another season following the great reception of previous seasons.

What we know so far

The show which debuted in January 2021 follows the Victorian world of the eponymous Eliza Scarlet, an amateur detective working in the shadow of her father.

Eliza’s father, Kevin, famously a member of the Scotland Yard has subjected his family to many highs and lows, mostly the latter. However, upon his demise, grief-stricken Eliza is determined to not follow convention and keep up the detective work her family name is famous for.

We are also introduced to William Wellington aka “The Duke” who was Kevin’s pupil and now works as a Scotland Yard detective himself.

As the season progresses, Eliza and Duke cross paths. Eliza discovered family secrets that shake her world while Duke pretends to be someone he’s not. Both of which disappoint Eliza greatly.

The second season follows the adept group of detectives, namely, Eliza, Moses, Ivy, Rupert, and Duke as they battle the London criminal syndicate.

Change is in the air while Eliza and Duke continue to get closer facing more difficulties and harsh facts about their feelings for each other.

The Cast Update

Kate Phillips assumes the role of Eliza Scarlet, while Duke is played by Stuart Martin. Other cast members include Andrew Grover, Cathy Belton, Ansu Kabia, and Kevin Doyle among others.

The series was greenlit for another season set to air in January 2023. It is expected to follow the same six-episode-per-season format.

Eliza and Duke return with more cases to solve and mysteries to unearth all the while Eliza continues to suffer the plight of an unmarried woman, though, by choice, things do not get easier following Rupert’s engagement. She continues to try to be the best detective she can be. Girl Power!
