They Cloned Tyrone is Netflix’s latest movie with producer Jamie Foxx. The movie features an ensemble with John Boyega, Teyonah Parris, and Kiefer Sutherland. Director Juel Taylor partners up with Tony Rettenmaier to present a comedic sci-fi screenplay. 

With a stretch, till the film actually drops, Netflix has dropped a bunch of teasers and trailers to keep the fans roped in. They reveal just enough so you want to know more without actually giving substantial anything away.

The official trailer of They Cloned Tyrone dropped 3 weeks ago. It opens with a musical elevator ride, already adding to the element of comedy. A mysterious underground lab is revealed where it appears some kinds of eerie experiments are being conducted. Their every move is monitored, so it seems they are catching on.

And then, we meet the cloned Tyrone. The man, the myth, the legend itself. Initially, Tyrone appears to not have taken well to the fact that he’s a close but soon he finds motivation to find out what actually is going on, accompanied by his elevator sidekicks- Charles and Yo-Yo.

Since the dawn of conspiracy theories, clones have been right there at the heart of it. Everyone has wondered at least once in their lives, ‘‘what if this is staged and I’m a clone’’, much like ‘The Truman Show but not exactly.

Juel Taylors bring on John Boyega as the titular character, veteran Jaime Foxx as Slick Charles, and recently famous Teyonah Parris as Yo-Yo.

The film has been in the works for more than three years. John Boyega was announced in the lead role back in October 2019. Principal photography began in December 2020 in Atlanta and lasted until February 2021. And then it was all about putting together the pieces. 

They Cloned Tyrone is all set to release on 30th December 2022 on Netflix.
