Lookism: Is It Coming In November 2022?

For some time now, one of the most popular types of content on the internet is Korean webtoons. And recently, a new webtoon titled “Lookism” has been creating headlines nowadays. Therefore, anything pertaining to this brand-new webtoon “Lookism” will be discussed here. Well,  Lookism is a webtoon from South Korea that was created by Park Tae-joon, who also did the illustrations for it.

On September 25, 2022, during Netflix’s “Tudum” virtual event, an animated version of Lookism was revealed. The original webtoon will serve as the basis for the adaptation, which will not be created in the usual anime style but will instead adhere to the aesthetic of the source material. Studio Mir will be in charge of producing the adaptation.

In November 2014, the webtoon was initially released on a weekly basis on Naver WEBTOON. The protagonist of the novel is a high school kid with the ability to switch between two different bodies—one fit and attractive, the other overweight and ugly. In November of 2022, a Korean animated series adaption that was produced by Studio Mir will be made available on Netflix around the world.

Lookism Release Date

On November 4, 2022, Lookism will be made available to users all around the world via the streaming service Netflix. The official teaser for this webtoon was also made available via Netflix. And now that the official teaser has been out, it is official that Lookism will be available on Netflix on November 4, 2022. During Netflix’s “Tudum” virtual event on September 25, 2022, Studio Mir revealed the Korean animated series adaption.

There have been no casting announcements made for Lookism as of yet; however, we anticipate that the cast will be discussed in the very near future. There will be a large number of characters in the series, however, neither the original Korean voice actors nor the prospective English dub actors have been made public.

What Is The Korean Webtoon Lookism About?

The story revolves around a 17-year-old boy Park Hyung Suk. Park Hyung Suk has lived his entire 17 years at the bottom of the food chain. He is short, fat, and unattractive and is used to being bullied by his classmates and frequently being treated unfairly because of his appearance.

He makes the decision to change schools and enroll at Seoul’s Jae Won High School, a vocational preparation institution renowned for its liberal educational philosophy and carefree pupils, in an effort to get away from his biggest bully, Lee Tae Sung.

Days before his relocation, Hyung Suk awakens to discover that his typical overweight figure has been replaced with a perfect one. Hyung Suk, who is tall, attractive, and toned, has evolved into his ideal self. His original body is still next to him, which presents a dilemma because he awakens in the other body when one of them falls asleep.

Now that Hyung Suk possesses two incredibly distinct bodies, he has to figure out how to negotiate his new and significantly more popular life at J High while simultaneously resolving the riddle of where his second, almost superhuman body came from. 

What Language Will The TV Series Be Available To Stream?

Although we don’t yet know if Lookism will have an English dub, we do know that it will have a Korean dub with English subtitles. Lookism will have additional subtitles available in numerous languages worldwide because it is a global series.

Where To Watch Lookism?

Since the animated series has not premiered yet, there is currently nowhere to watch Lookism. However, as Lookism is an animated series produced by Netflix, we are certain that it will premiere on the streaming service on November 4, 2022. The number of episodes and the order in which they will air are still unknown, but we do know that the show will premiere on the streaming service on November 4, 2022.

Will There Be A Season 2 Of Lookism?

As of right now, Lookism’s future is uncertain. We don’t really know much about the series’s future at this point, so it’s unclear whether or not we’ll see a second season. Fans of the Lookism series will be happy to hear that the original webtoon is still in production and has more than enough content for more than one more season. However, we will have to wait and see how the situation with season one develops before learning more about a potential season two.
