A police report has been filed in the case. Santokh had previously received death threats. Even before this, there had been an attempt on his life. Santok joined the BJP in 2021, and on December 25, he was assaulted by two unidentified assailants. The two suspects began shooting at Santokh.

The assailants were from Amritsar, said to police. The unidentified armed males apparently arrived on a bike, and Santok narrowly escaped the attack.

Santok was traveling from Amritsar to Beas when he stopped at a dhaba in the Jandiala Guru region. While filing a police report, Santok stated that his gunmen needed to use the restroom, so he pulled over near the Gurdaspuria dhaba.

Two bikers approached his car and opened fire on him. According to reports, four bullets were fired at his car, and the attackers left just after Santok’s gunmen arrived to defend him.
