Red Velvet’s Seulgi Solo Debut 28 Reasons is out.

Published by

Kang Seul-gi, better known by his stage name Seulgi, is a dancer and singer from South Korea. She is a member of the South Korean supergroup Got the Beat as well as the girl groups Red Velvet, Irene & Seulgi, and Red Velvet.

The Red Velvet member released her debut mini-album “28 Reasons” on October 4 at 6:00 PM KST, coupled with a music video for the album’s title tune. 28 Reasons, Seulgi’s debut mini-album, sold 134,682 copies on the first day of release, according to data made public by Hanteo, breaking the singer’s previous sales record.

The currently popular music video begins with Seulgi gently waking up in a barren countryside before cutting to her doing the dance while wearing fierce attire.

More About the Seulgi’s solo debut 28 Reasons.

’28 Reasons,’ a pop dance song with a distinguishing whistling and powerful bass sound. Through the song, questions are raised about the many factors influencing the relationship by a character in the lyrics where good and evil cohabit with both a sincere interest in the one they like and a light sense of humor.

The MV itself has two sides: one where she is terrible and dark, and the other where she has an innocent and sweet appearance. The two sides of Seulgi merge into one by the end of the MV.

Seulgi explores the more sinister sides of love in this melancholy pop song. To give the song a sinister feel, the production experiments with trap, powerful synths, and an echoing whistle. With her ability to break individuals who are drawn to her or fixated on her, Seulgi shows a dangerous side of herself in the song’s lyrics.

In the video, the singer talks about the love that trapped and destroyed her, but it just transformed her, and she tries everything in her power to exact revenge.

Seulgi of Red Velvet is all about breaking up in style, as evidenced by her MV costumes and the soothing vocals that go well with the clip. The song’s powerful whistle tone gives it an addictive quality that makes listeners want to dance along to the otherwise simple melody.

Eight years after making her debut with Red Velvet, Seulgi has finally released her first solo album. The K-Pop female solo artist’s album with the most number of copies sold on the first day in 2022 is “28 Reasons.”

The previous record-holder, TWICE Nayeon’s solo debut album “IM NAYEON,” had more than 123,000 first-day album sales. Just after IU, BLACKPINK’s Rosé, and Lisa, “28 Reasons” is the fourth-best-selling album by a Korean female soloist in Hanteo history.
