Amber Heard: Movies From Flops to Blockbusters

Amber Heard starred in Zombieland and The Rum Diary alongside her ex-husband, but her legal and personal problems derailed her, leaving her without a box office hit for years.

Here you can check out some Amber Heard starrer films.

Syrup

IMDb

Heard’s 2012 comedy/drama Syrup is a colossal misfire, even though it’s based on a successful novel of the same name. It has a 25% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is even high if you ask us. Against a budget of $2.5 million, it grossed less than $1,000.

The story was there but the movie failed to deliver as the dialogues were tiresome and the humor fell flat. Also, Heard’s character Six was overly s*xual, overshadowing her essence, which was to balance humor with s*x appeal.

Rum Diary

In 2011, Heard starred opposite her ex-husband Depp in this comedy/drama, playing star-crossed lovers. She starred as Chenault, the fiancee of Sanderson’s character Aaron Eckhart, who falls in love with journalist Paul Kemp (Depp).

The film has an average rating on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic, but flopped at the box office, grossing $30.1 million against a budget of $45 to $65 million. $5 million of that income came from domestic coffers.

Although Depp and Heard’s love story ended in real life, you can watch the movie and relive their on-screen romance.

We chose Her Pach for Heard’s performance because it is one of the few film roles that has earned critical acclaim. It’s not the biggest box office hit, but when the actress played singer Zelda E. Zekiel, she had critics in her pocket.

The film has a 6/10 IMDb rating, an 84% Rotten Tomatoes rating, and a 3/5 Common Sense rating.

In 2017, Heard became Princess Mera; the redheaded undersea love from the DCEU film adaptation Aquaman. She starred alongside Jason Momoa, who portrayed the titular superhuman hero.

Comic book adaptations are sure bankers at the box office, and Aquaman didn’t disappoint, earning $1.148 billion against a budget of $160-200 million. It’s undoubtedly Amber Heard’sbiggest box office hit, and it’s no wonder Depp’s fans wanted her out of the second film.
