Produce 101 Season 2 Contestant Jeong Joong Ji Committed Suicide.

The 30 years old theatre actor, Jeong Joong Ji passes away by suicide. The news was announced by his mother via Twitter. She wrote, “This is Jeong Joong Ji’s mother. My son, Joong Ji, has taken his own life. I can’t describe how I feel right now.” Although the precise reason for his death has not been disclosed yet.

According to the reports, on September 9 he took his last breath, just 4 days after he celebrated his 30th birthday. The funeral was held on September 11 at 9 AM KST. Along with the post she posted two images.

One of the images depicted the grieving family who was holding Jeong Joong Ji’s picture while bowing their heads. The other picture revealed more information, such as the funeral date, by showing the idol aspirant’s burial notification.

Why did Jeong Joong Ji Commit Suicide?

The late Joong Ji rose to stardom after appearing on the show “Produce 101” season 2 in 2017, where he was placed 64th overall. After making his appearance in the show “Produce 101 Season 2”, Jeong Joong Ji later on performed as an actor in the theatre production of the plays Prison’ and ‘Essence of Love.

In addition to this, he also received the Hallyu Star Award for Actors at the 2017 Hallyu Selection Organizing Committee Awards. He even hosted his first fan meeting in 2018. Joongi was the representative of Wayz Company during the show Produce 101.

During the show, Joongji was accused of s*xual assault. In the end, he eventually issued a formal apology, and the accuser took down the SNS posts. Joongji came forward following the show and claimed that there had been some bullying going on behind the scenes.

According to him, Yoon Jisung of Wanna One often bullied him. However, he also added that they had eventually reconciled during the show. Later on, he made a statement through his SNS requesting people to terminate their threatening messages and curt comments.

He also stated that whatever he said is accurate and his company had manufactured the s*xual assault controversy in order to make him famous and simultaneously damage his career. Joongji was sued by Wayz Company for allegedly defaming it.
