IU donated 200 million KRW to celebrate her 14th debut anniversary.

Lee Ji-eun commonly known as IU is a well-known South Korean singer-songwriter, record producer, and actress. She joined LOEN Entertainment (now Kakao Entertainment) as a trainee in 2007 and made her singing debut at the age of fifteen with her first extended play (EP), Lost and Found (2008).

IU has always been generous enough to keep on making donations, especially for women and children. In order to celebrate her 14th debut anniversary the singer, Lee Ji-eun made a donation of 200 million won to two organizations. Among the 200 million won, she donated 100 million won to the Asian Social Welfare Foundation and another 100 million won to the Seoul Metropolitan Child Welfare Association.

The money donated by IU will be used for paying the bills of cancer treatment for women and children who are financially unstable under the Asian Social Welfare Foundation.

It will also be used in helping young people to prepare for self-independence under the Seoul Metropolitan Child Welfare Association. IU did not make the donations by using her name. As per her agency, EDAM Entertainment IU made the donations using the name ‘IUaena’, which is the combination of her name as well as the name of her fan club ‘Uaena.’

In a statement given by the actress she said, “With Uaena, who has given me miracles both big and small for the past 15 years, I am sharing warmth again this year with a heart full of gratitude.

I hope that our hearts will come together to bring another little miracle to someone. All the time I’d been able to spend with Uaena over the past 15 years was my ‘Golden Hour.’ Thank you and I love you so much.”

IU is one of the most successful actresses in South Korea. She is well-known for making donations often. In August 2022, her agency Edam Entertainment said, “IU has donated 100 million KRW to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association.”

She made the donation in order to help them recover from heavy rains or floods. On her last anniversary, IU donated goods and supplies to various charities and organizations worth 850 million won. The donations were made in collaboration with companies she has endorsed.

The donations that were made on her 13th anniversary include 1000 pairs of New Balance sneakers as well as 2000 boxes of pizzas for children and teenagers living in shelters. Along with these winter coats and gear for the youths, first aid kits, blankets, and bedding sets for health centers were provided.

The fans of Lee Ji-eun love her for the efforts she puts in not only her career but also in involving herself in humanity. It is very easy to be a human but it takes a lot of guts to show humanity.

IU has always stood in front whenever it comes to making bountiful donations. For her deed, she has always kept on receiving love and blessings from her family and fans.
