BORN PINK, Blackpink’s second album, was eventually released on Friday, September 16 after fans had been waiting for weeks. The K-pop girl group’s sophomore album, Born Pink, follows the release of their debut, “The Album”, in October 2020. Born Pink, which consists of eight songs, was released one month after Pink Venom, their solo track.
Jennie added, “‘Shut Down’ is a music that takes the consistent charisma BLACKPINK has exhibited so far to the next level,” before playing the song’s title. The fusion of traditional and contemporary hip hop beats is remarkable and has the appeal of sounding fresh and being very catchy.
Shut Down, the album’s title track is described as sampling Paganini’s La Campanella, and the use of this classical component will enhance “the dark and enigmatic aura the original song exudes.” Shut Down is a noteworthy song thanks to the seamless blending of traditional and modern hip-hop beats.
The MV depicts them having fun together, and the song depicts them feeling like the “K-Pop queens.” The straightforward but powerful MV has numerous visual allusions to previous music videos, bringing back fond memories for the viewers. The tunes have won over the fans. It’s the kind of tune that you’ll keep hearing over and over in your head.
Before making a comeback, Blackpink released their single Pink Venom, a hip-hop track that combined pop-rap, EDM, and traditional Korean instrumentation. With over 86.2 million views in just 24 hours after its release, Blackpink’s recognizable song became the biggest YouTube video premiere of 2022.
