‘You’ star Penn Badgley becomes the Fantastic Four’s Reed Richards in new fan-created art. Before he was eventually revealed to be the titular character, he loved to spread tales about his pals.
The actor was best known for playing nice guy Dan Humphry in The CW’s first season of Gossip Girl. But now, in the Netflix thriller series You, Badgley plays the spooky stalker Joe Goldberg.
But if reports are true, he might wind up entering the MCU as Reed Richards, the captain of the Fantastic Four.
Rebooting Marvel’s First Family has been part of Kevin Feige and his team’s agenda for a time now. The project was supposed to be led by director Jon Watts of the Spider-Man trilogy. but WandaVision helmer Matt Shakman is being considered as his replacement after his departure.

Marvel Studios have remained mum about their casting choices for the Fantastic Four throughout all of this. But as the film’s release date approaches, the studio will eventually have to make a choice. If rumors are to be believed, Badgley is a top choice to play Mister Fantastic.
Mining inspiration from this, digital artist @rahalarts on Twitter imagines what the You star would look like as the captain of the Fantastic Four.
Using John Krasinski’s version of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as its basis, the illustrator comes up with a mock-up of Badgley as Reed Richards, and it looks great. With his wife Emily Blunt playing Sue Storm, Krasinski has long been the fan favorite to play MCU Reed Richards.
While there will always be supporters of Krasinski for the role of the Marvel First Family in the MCU. Seeing Badgley in the aforementioned fan art may persuade others to be open to the possibility that he may end up becoming the next Mister Fantastic.
In any case, Marvel Studios has never shied away from taking risks with their casting decisions. They have made several questionable decisions regarding this.
Feige claims that choosing Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man remains her greatest adventure. Whoever they choose to be the next Mr. Fantastic, whether it’s Yuzu Badgley, Krasinski, or someone else, fans shouldn’t be dismissing it right away.
It won’t be long before the cast is officially announced. With the MCU’s reboot movie Fantastic Four is set to release in 2024. They might even do it next week at D23 Expo 2022.
