Story Details

IMDb

This epic drama is based on author J. R. R. Tolkien‘s history of Middle-earth and is set tens of thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

It opens in a period of largely calm and covers all of the significant Second Age events in Middle-earth: the creation of the Rings of Power, the ascent of Sauron the Dark, the destruction of the island kingdom of Nmenor, and the final union between Elves and Men.

In Tolkien’s original stories, these events occur over a long period of time, but the series has compressed them.

Trailer

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’s first episodes are set to launch soon, and Prime Video has debuted what is most likely the final complete trailer before that time.

Many of the plots continue to be purposefully elusive, simply hinting at some broader threats or evil characters at work, but most of them fill in plot details that have previously been suggested or speculated.

The new teaser does, however, start to define Galadriel’s objectives and personal journey as the main character of the narrative, which is what it makes clearest.

The loss of Galadriel’s brother Finrod, which inspired her search for the enemy’s minions, is explored in the trailer’s opening moments.

The provenance of her dagger, which has a gold and silver tree pattern, is also alluded to here because it appears to have belonged to Finrod before he passed away.

The remainder of the trailer shows various scenes of Galadriel in Nmenor. The majority of the remaining portion of the film appears to expand the color pallet and allude to Middle-uncertain earth’s future. Here is the trailer to watch.
