Thai Cave Rescue Netflix Release Date, and All That We Know So Far!!

The premiere of the limited series Thai Cave Rescue will take place on Netflix on the date that was announced recently.

The series is based on the actual rescue effort of the Wild Boars soccer team’s twelve players and coach in 2018; the squad became trapped in the Tham Luang caves as a result of heavy rain, prompting a large international rescue operation that attracted international media attention.

The guys’ perspectives will be featured in the television series, which was filmed all around Thailand, including in the Tham Luang caves.

Netflix describes the series as the most genuine and thorough recounting ever, despite the fact that it is a dramatized version of the historical events.

The first season of “Thai Cave Rescue,” a six-part miniseries on the dramatic events that occurred in July 2018 when 12 boys and their football coach were trapped in flooded limestone caves near Chiang Rai, is scheduled to debut on OTT platforms On September 22, 2022.

Story Details

The Tham Luang cave rescue, which took place in the Tham Luang-Khun Nam Nang Non-National Park in June and July 2018, saw the rescue of twelve players from the Wild Boars junior football team and their assistant coach from the flooded Tham Luang Nang Non-cave system.

Production Details

A corporation established to manage the story rights of the Wild Boars football team’s rescued players, 13 Tham Luang Company Limited, granted Netflix the rights to the series in 2019.

Thai Cave Rescue is the only product that was allowed access to the Wild Boars and will present their viewpoints on their suffering despite the fact that a number of movies have been made on the events.

The series’ production crew landed at Tham Luang-Khun Nam Nang Non in Chiang Rai Province on August 23, 2021, in order to set up for filming. Along with the cave itself, filming took place at the real houses of the Wild Boars squad members.

Who Is Nattawut Poonpiriya?

Nattawut “Baz” Poonpiriya is a Thai director who is best known for directing the films Countdown, Bad Genius, and One for the Road.

Although he has worked on a large number of television advertisements and music videos, his most well-known works are his films. The stage directing a program of Srinakharinwirot University awarded Nattawut a Master of Fine Arts degree.

Following graduation, he spent the next three years working primarily on television advertisements before relocating to New York to enroll in the Pratt Institute’s graphic design program.

In 2011, he relocated back to Thailand, where he began his career as a director of music videos. He directed his first feature film, the horror thriller Countdown, for GTH the following year.
