On Sunday night (August 28), Taylor Swift attended an afterparty for the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards while wearing an ensemble that was entirely consistent with the aesthetic of her next album, Midnights.
When the diva arrived at the Fleur Room in New York City for the Republic Records post-show celebration, she wowed in a Moschino romper that was midnight blue and adorned with bejeweled silver stars across the bodice.
She completed the ensemble by donning a large white faux fur stole, glittering platform heels, and a solid red lip, all of which are evocative of the style she sported throughout the Red period.

During her acceptance speech for her third career Video of the Year win (for All Too Well: The Short Film), Taylor Swift broke the news that she would be releasing her 10th studio album on October 21, telling the audience that she “thought it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand new album comes out on October 21.” The audience was visibly shocked. And I promise to tell you more at twelve o’clock.”
This will be the first new body of work that the singer has released since the unexpected publication of Folklore and its sibling album Evermore in the year 2020.
Midnights will function in this capacity. Since then, she has, of course, been very active in re-recording her whole back catalog of songs. She has already released Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version) and will continue to do so into 2021.
Swift’s dramatic visual for the praised 10-minute version of “All Too Well” won two additional accolades during the MTV awards presentation. These wins were for best long-form video and best director.
