Streaming and rental service of Amazon- Amazon Prime Video is a standalone service to watch films and tv series on. Primarily those shows that Amazon Studios and MGM Holdings produce or Amazon Originals that are licensed to Amazon are streamed on the site. Though content made by other providers is also distributed by the site.
Amazon Prime Video is available worldwide excluding a few countries. To date, Amazon Prime has delivered hit series like ‘Goliath’, ‘The Wheel of Time, ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’, ‘Modern Love’ etc.
Following is the list of series which can be streamed on Amazon Prime in September of 2022.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power-
One of the much-awaited series of recent times is ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power‘, the newest adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s renowned fantasy novel ‘The Lord of the Rings and the appendices that he wrote. J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay have developed this series for Prime Video.
Amazon Studies along with Tolkien Estate, the Tolkien Trust, New Line Cinema, and HarperCollins has produced this series.
The plot of this series is set in the second age of Middle-earth that Tolkien so famously weaved. The events are of thousand years before the incidents of ‘The Hobbit and ‘The Lord of the Rings and deal with the major events that mark the second age of Middle-earth- forging of Rings of Power, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the fall of Númenor, and the last alliance of Elves and Men.
The primary cast members of the series include Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Maxim Baldry, Morfydd Clark, Peter Mullan, Lloyd Owen, Benjamin Walker, etc.
The series is set to release on September 2, 2022, on Prime Video. The second season has been announced in August of 2021 whose filming has already begun in October 2022.
Friday Night Lights (season 1-5)-
Peter Berg has developed this American sports drama series that is based on H. G. Bissinger’s nonfiction book of 1990. The plot of the series is set in the small town of Dillon which is a close-knit community in rural West Texas.
It follows a high school football team and its journey along with dealing with the members’ lives. Kyle Chandler, Connie Britton, Gaius Charles, Zach Gilford, Minka Kelly, Adrianne Palicki, and Taylor Kitsch are some of the primary cast members of the series.
The series ran from October 3, 2006, to February 9, 2011. On September 1 this year, it is arriving on Amazon Prime.
He Is Psychometric-
The South Korean tv series 2019 ‘He Is Psychometric’ is created by Studio Dragon. The plot of the series revolves around Lee Ahn, who after his parents’ death by fire, becomes able to use psychometry and read the past of a person or an object by physical contact.
Ahn decides to use this ability to fight against criminals, though he still is ignorant of how to control the power.
Park Jin-young plays the role of Lee Ahn in the series. The series ran from March 11 to April 30 of 2019 and can be streamed on Amazon Prime on September 7 this year.
The Crowned Clown-
Another K-drama ‘The Crowned Clown’ is the remake of the South Korean period drama ‘Masquerade’ which was released in 2012.
At the center of this series is a Joseon King. He puts a clown who happens to be his doppelganger on the throne in order to make way for himself to escape the power struggle that comes with it.
It is set in the mid-Joseon period when power play reached an extreme level of devastation.
Primary cast members of the series include Yeo Jin-goo, Kim Sang-Kyung, Lee Se-young, etc. The series ran from January 7 to March 4 of 2019 and will be streamed on Amazon Prime on 7th September.
Prisma-
This upcoming Italian tv series is a coming-of-age drama dealing with the theme of identity, sexual orientation, physical appearance, and aspirations and the relationship between them.
The story focuses on a group of Latina teenagers centering on Marco and Andrea who are two twins. But despite their physical likeliness, they are much different in what they feel inside.
The series will take us on the journey of their self-discovery through a path that is equally turbulent and joyous in the ever-changing world.
The cast members of the series include Mattia Carrano, Lorenzo Zurzolo, Caterina Forza, Chiara Bordi, Matteo Scattaretico, LXX Blood, Zakaria Hamza, Leo Rivosecchi, Flavia Del Prete, Asia Patrignani, Andrea Giannini, Autilia Ranieri etc. The series is set to premiere on Amazon Prime on September 21, 2022.
