Tell Me Lies: Release Date

Tell Me Lies will be executive produced by Emma Roberts and Karah Preiss under the Belletrist Productions banner, as well as Matt Matruski, Laura Lewis, and Stephanie Noonan for Rebelle Media and Shannon Gibson and Sam Schlaifer for Vice-owned Refinery29.

The two college freshmen meet and become intertwined in Tell Me Lies, Hulu’s adaptation of Carola Lovering’s debut novel. Lucy trudges on, despite the lack of green flags, and nearly drowns in the toxic relationship. The 10-episode season will premiere with three episodes on Wednesday, September 7, and new episodes will be released weekly.

Storyline

The story follows Lucy Albright, a young Long Island native who arrives on her small college campus in Southern California hoping to escape a traumatic relationship with her mother. She meets Stephen during Welcome Week, and an unexpected event changes her life.

At first glance, their relationship appears to be typical of those that begin at that age. There is undeniable passion and drama that is commonplace during those formative years, but each makes decisions along the way that have irreversible consequences. Their relationship quickly turns into an addictive, life-changing entanglement that has a long-term impact on their lives and the lives of those around them.

Tell Me Lies is a twisted, s*xy, and gripping love story that is both dramatic and relatable in many ways. It will transport you back to the all-encompassing and exhilarating sensation of first love, as well as all the emotions associated with navigating those whirlwind feelings. And it’s especially intense for Lucy, who has just left home for the first time and is learning to live on her own.
