Plantronics Backbeat Go 810 Price, Design, Performance, and Much More

Published by

The Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 wireless over-ears are adequate for most applications. They have excellent audio reproduction and can accommodate various musical genres. They provide more than 20 hours of continuous playback, which is fantastic, and their control scheme is responsive and simple to use.

Unfortunately, their noise cancellation feature is underwhelming and will not outperform other ANC headphones in this price range.

Plantronics Backbeat Go 810: Price

The Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 is now only $59! In addition, you can get a pair in either black or white from retailers such as Amazon and Walmart.

Design

The Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 has a more understated design than its more expensive BackBeat Pro 2 counterpart. The headband is built of plastic and padded with cloth, which, while not as comfortable as leather, should withstand more abuse.

The left earcup’s outer panel houses the play/pause control and dedicated track forward/backward buttons. Volume up/down buttons on the side panel activate the ANC when pressed for two seconds simultaneously.

A switch on the right earcup’s side panel controls power and Bluetooth pairing, while a button on the lower end of the earcup controls EQ modes and mutes the microphone.

Performance

The Plantronics BackBeat GO 810 headphones sound good, but they fall short in a few areas: the tonal balance is slightly warmer than neutral, and the headphones lack detail. In addition, when ANC is turned off, the headphones’ bass becomes overpowering and sloppy.

The BackBeat Go 810 doesn’t have the active noise-canceling performance of Bose, Sony, or even Microsoft’s headphones, but it’s good enough to block out nearby rumblings.

There are two noise cancellation modes: low and high. The former is better suited for closed environments such as offices or when you’re surrounded by a lot of noise, whereas the latter is better suited for noisy environments such as airplanes and trains.

Connectivity

The Backbeat Go 810 headphones are excellent in terms of connectivity. Bluetooth 5.0, which connects to multiple devices simultaneously, improves range, and saves energy, is another advantage these cans have over most of the competition.

Battery Life

The battery in these cans is very durable. Plantronics claims 22 hours with ANC enabled and 28 hours with standard mode. That’s fairly accurate, given that the headphones lasted roughly 20 hours with noise cancellation turned on. It still falls short of the WH-1000XM3 but is on par with the QC35 II.

Features

The Plantronics app includes a number of unique features. The EQ setting for personalizing sound was the most useful. Plantronics’ options for broadening the soundstage aren’t as extensive as those found on the Cortana or Sony Headphones apps, but it keeps it simple with two modes: Bright and Balanced.

The former excels at enhancing clarity and detail, whereas the latter is programmed to produce neutral sound, even when the bass is boosted.
