New K-Dramas to Stream on Netflix in 2022

This age is the heyday of the South Korean entertainment industry. K-drama and K-pop have reached the level of phenomenal success all over the world. And Netflix has been the foremost streaming site to deliver a variety of K-drama throughout the year.

In 2022 we have already streamed on Netflix much-awaited series like ‘All of Us Are Dead‘ and ‘Money Heist’. Now it is time to cast our glance forward in order to find out which South Korean tv series are on the way to being streamed on Netflix.

List of K-dramas coming on Netflix-

Glitch:

Roh Deok has directed the upcoming K-drama ‘Glitch‘ that follows a rich woman named Hong Ji-hyo who is determined to find her missing boyfriend taking the help of UFO club members.

Starring as Hong Ji-hyo we will see Jeon Yeo-been in the series. Other cast members are Nana, Lee Dong-hwi, Ryu Kyung-soo etc. The series is set to air on Netflix in 2022.

Narco-Saints:

Upcoming K-drama ‘Narco-Saints’ is directed by Yoon Jong-bin and is based on true events centering on an ordinary entrepreneur.

His name is Kang In-gu he becomes compelled to embark upon a life-threatening journey by engaging himself in National Intelligence Service’s secret operation to catch the Korean drug lord Jeon Yo-hwan.

South Korean actors Ha Jung-woo and Hwang Jung-min will be seen portraying the roles of Kang In-gu and Jeon Yo-hwan respectively. Other primary cast members are Park Hae-soo, Jo Woo-jin, and Yoo Yeon-seok. The series is set to air on Netflix on September 9, 2022.

Money Heist: Korea- Joint Economic Area:

The South Korean adaptation of the very popular Spanish heist crime drama ‘Money Heist’ or ‘La casa de papel’ is directed by Kim Hong-sun. It is the second season of the Money Heist franchise. Though the success of this series has not matched the popularity of the original series, the Korean adaptation is pretty enjoyable to watch.

The plot of this series is both a remake and a continuation of the Spanish series and it features a criminal mastermind known as The Professor who makes a team with a number of desperados and strategists carrying different abilities and characteristics in order to pull off a high-profile heist.

South Korean actor Yoo Ji-tae stars in the series as Professor or Park Sun-ho. The series was originally released on June 24, 2022, on Netflix with the first six episodes. The next six episodes are yet to be streamed though the release date has not been announced yet.

Baek Seung-ryong has directed this new South Korean tv series that is adapted from the same named French TV series that was released on October 14, 2015.

The plot of the series revolves around an entertainment management company named Method Enter and its celebrity managers along with their professional work and amateur life.

The main cast members of the series are Lee Seo-jin playing Matthew, Kwak Sun-young playing Chun Jae-in, Seo Hyun-woo portraying Kim Jubg-don, and Joo Hyun-young starring as So Hyun-joo.

The series is set to release on tvN on November 16, 2022, in South Korea and on Netflix in selected regions.

Love to Hate You:

Kim Jung-kwon has directed the upcoming K-drama Love to Hate You. The plot of the series depicts a man who is suspicious of women and a woman who hates to lose to men.

The two form a war-like relationship which gradually turns into something else. Kim Ok-vin, Teo Yoo, Kim Ji-hoon, Go Won-hee are some of the cast members of the series. The series is set to release on Netflix sometime in 2022.

Black Knight:

Another upcoming South Korean tv series is ‘Black Knight’ is written and directed by Cho Ui-seok. The plot of the series is inspired by the same named webtoon by Lee Yoon-gyun and is set in a fictional dystopian future when air pollution is a serious issue.

Kim Woo-bin, Esom are some of the cast members. Though any specific date of release has not been announced yet, the series is set to air in 2022 on Netflix.

Little Women:

Kim Hee-won has directed this upcoming K-drama that is inspired by Louisa May Alcott’s renowned same-named novel of 1968. The plot of the series is based on three poor sisters who are very close to each other as they get ready to face the richest family in Korea.

The eldest sister is Oh In-ju, the middle sister is Oh In-kyung, and the youngest sister is Oh In-hye. The primary cast members of the series are Kim Go-eun, Nam Ji-hyun, Park Ji-hu, Wi Ha-joon etc.

In South Korea this series is set to premiere on September 3, 2023, on tvN. In selected areas, the season will stream on Netflix too.
