Kelly Clarkson separated from her ex-husband Brandon for 2 years now. And according to the singer, it was a rough couple of years for her. She has talked about everything related to it in an interview that happened on TODAY. The 40-year-old singer has talked about her spending summer time with her kids and Brandon.

Kelly Clarkson shares two kids with her ex-husband, one is a 6-year-old son and the other is an 8-year-old daughter. She said that the whole summer, the kids were with their mother and their dad and it was nice. According to the singer their kids had to travel a lot because of the separation. The singer said that they both were in Montana.

The couple separated through a divorce in June 2020, almost after 7 years of their marriage. And when they spent time in summer after 2 years of separation then it felt like the first time for them. And when it comes to the kids then they also felt quite centered and relaxed.

Clarkson and Brandon settled their divorce in March 2022 after a few visits to court. The two agreed on custody of having kids spending time of one weekend in a month with their father. It was also in the news when Brandon was not leaving the ranch and later on they both agreed on him to pay the rent of $12500 per month.

It was in October 2021 when the judge has given the whole support to Clarkson to her Montana ranch. They both came to compromise and came to a particular decision. According to the words of Kelly Clarkson, divorce was the hardest thing to navigate. She said:

“It’s one of those things where I’m a human, and I’m going through something huge. … Obviously, everybody knows a huge divorce went through, and it’s been like two years and not easy with kids”
