With a number of new movies and new seasons of various series, September is coming on Netflix this year.
Although many old films are also coming to the streaming site this month. Among the plethora of new movies, some are really much awaited while some are a little less well-known.
In August Netflix gave us films like ‘Wedding Season’, ‘Day Shift‘, ‘Me Time’, ‘The Next 365 Days, ‘Seoul Vibe’ etc. Among the ones of September we will find ‘Do Revenge’, ‘Love in the Villa’, and of course ‘Blonde’.
Must Watch Movies Coming on Netflix in September:
Blonde-
Andrew Dominik has directed the much-awaited and promising new movie of Ana de Armas ‘Blonde‘. Adapted from the same named 2000 novel written by Joyce Carol Oates which is based on the life of Marilyn Monroe, the American actress who turned from the emblem of 1950s-1960s s*xual revolution into a literal legend.
In this upcoming biographical psychological movie Cuban Spanish actress Ana de Armas will portray Monroe along with her success in Hollywood and the hidden struggle and trauma.
De Armas has recently gained prominence and critical acclaim for her acting. She starred in ‘The Gray Man‘ released on July 22 on Netflix. She was also cast in the American mystery movie of 2019 ‘Knives Out’ for which she received various accolades.
In other roles in the movie, we will see Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale, Xavier Samuel, Julianne Nicholson, Casper Phillipson, Toby Huss, Sara Paxton, etc. ‘Blonde’ will premiere on September 8, 2022, at 79th Venice Film Festival. After that, on 28th September the film will release on Netflix.
Love in the Villa-
Starring Tom Hopper and Kat Graham as the opposite of each other, ‘Love in the Villa‘ is written and directed by Mark Steven Johnson.
The plot of the series revolves around a young woman (played by Kat Graham) on a trip to the romantic Verona of Italy. She takes the trip to refresh herself after a break up not knowing that the villa she has reserved for herself is already double-booked and she will find a cynical British man (played by Tom Hopper) to share the vacation with.
Hopper is mostly known for portraying Luther Hargreeves aka Number One in the popular superhero tv series ‘The Umbrella Academy.
Kat Graham is known for playing Bonnie Bennett in the renowned supernatural teen series ‘The Vampire Diaries. Other cast members starring in the movie include Laura Hopper, Raymond Ablack, Hélèna Cardona, Peter Arpesella, etc. The movie will release on September 1, 2022, on Netflix m
A Jazzman’s Blues-
This relatively lesser-known movie is an American drama that is written and directed by Tyler Perry. The plot of the story is a carefully woven package of love, secret, deceit, and murder.
It follows an investigation of a murder mystery that unfolds a story dealing with forbidden love. The film was first announced on March 23, 2021, with Solea Pfeiffer and Joshua Boone being the first ones to join the cast. Other cast members joined in on May 7, 2021.
The primary photography of the movie began on May 5, 2021, in Savannah, Georgia, and ran till the 2nd of June.
Amirah Vann, Austin Scott, Ryan Eggold, Brent Antonello also star in the series. ‘A Jazzman’s Blues‘ premiered on September 11, 2022, at Toronto International Film Festival and will release on Netflix on September 23.
Do Revenge-
Another upcoming American movie ‘Do Revenge‘ is arriving on September 16, 2022, on Netflix. This dark comedy movie is inspired by the American psychological thriller film noir ‘Strangers on a Train’ which was directed by a renowned and influential filmmaker of film history Alfred Hitchcock in 1951.
The plot of the movie revolves around two high school students named Drea and Eleanor. Their lives turn upside down when both of them become face to face with disturbing incidents.
Drea’s topless video gets leaked making her ashamed. On the other hand, Eleanor also becomes an outcast after a rumor about her is spread. After that, the two of them gradually form a friendship and promise to go after each other’s bullies.
American actress Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke play Drea and Eleanor in the series respectively.
Other cast members include Sophie Turner, Austin Abrams, Rish Shah, Eliza Bennett, Alisha Boe, Talia Ryder, Paris Berelc, Jonathan Daviss, etc.
Rainbow-
The last movie on the list is the Spanish film ‘Rainbow’, directed by Paco León. Freely adapted from the children’s novel ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, this movie focuses on a teenager’s coming-of-age life.
The movie despite not being a musical film will be featuring a number of music. Dora Postigo, Carmen Maura, Carmen Machi, and Luis Bermejo are some of the cast members of the series.
The movie will have a selective theatrical release on September 23, 2022, and is set to release on Netflix on September 30, 2022.
