House Of The Dragon Becomes Most-Watched European HBO/HBO Max Premiere In History

The release of the Game of Thrones spin-off series House of the Dragon on HBO and HBO Max in Europe has broken records for the number of viewers that tuned in to see the event.

HBO Max said that the first episode that aired on Sunday night was “by far the largest release,” and that the show’s number of viewers “exceeded all expectations.

” However, the company did not give any rating information. Although HBO Max has disclosed its ratings in the United States, the streaming service has not yet done so in Europe.

On Monday at 3 am local time (6 pm Pacific Time), the premiere of the first episode of House of the Dragon was shown live on HBO Max in 21 countries throughout Europe, including the Nordic nations, the Netherlands, and Central Eastern Europe, and Iberia.

On Sunday night, 10 million people in the United States tuned in to see the broadcast, making it the new record holder for the most viewers for any new original series on HBO.

The 10-part series, which will broadcast throughout the next nine Mondays and is based on George R.R. Martin’s novel Fire & Blood, takes place two hundred years before the events of Game of Thrones and follows the narrative of the House Targaryen.

Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno, Fabien Frankel, and Rhys Ifans are some of the actors that play recurring roles in the series.

Over the course of the previous month, it was introduced with a massive premiere in both Amsterdam and London, both of which were attended by its big stars.

The story of the Targaryen family is told in the highly anticipated prequel to the series. The narrative starts with King Viserys sitting on the Iron Throne with his daughter Rhaenyra following in his footsteps as the next in line for the throne. However, as a consequence of this, there is contention in Westeros since not everyone agrees with the choice.

Martin said earlier this year in a blog post that he had seen rough edits of a few more episodes of House of the Dragon and that he was just as delighted with those episodes as he had been with the previous episodes.

“Ryan (Condal) and Miguel (Sapochnik), the show’s producers, together with its cast and crew, are doing an excellent job.”

“I believe that this series will appeal to those of you who like reading about people that are nuanced and multifaceted, as I do. The human tensions, the love, the hatred, and the character drama will be more important to the plot than the action and adventure that will take place in the novel, even if there will be lots of dragons and battles.”
