Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 Price, Design, Performance, and More Details

Published by

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 is the latest in a 19-year line of Bose QuietComfort noise-canceling headphones that have set the standard in the category for much of that time.

The 700 departs from the QuietComfort line, ushering in a premium series. That will be expanded with the addition of two pairs of true wireless in-ears, the Bose Earbuds 500 and the Bose Noise Cancelling Earbuds 700.

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700: Price

The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 are available for $399 / £349.95 in the United States.

Design

The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 feature a minimalist design throughout. The headphones have three buttons, two of which have no icons or labels.

Which I don’t mind because you can’t see labels when you’re wearing them. Only the power/Bluetooth pairing button on the right ear cup has a small Bluetooth logo. Making it easy to distinguish it from the other two when turned on.

The black and silver headphones are built around a stainless steel headband. The headphones can be adjusted by simply sliding the earcups up and down the headband. Which avoids breaking the design’s smooth lines as they transition from a flat to a cylindrical shape.

Sound Performance

Bose claims that the sound quality is comparable to the QC35 II, and we agree. However, the company has not made the same significant advances in audio performance as in noise cancellation and design.

The Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700 provides a lot of detail and clarity listening to Falls Creek Boys Choir. We were blown away by textures and harmonies we hadn’t noticed before. In addition, the soundstage is quite expansive for a pair of noise-canceling headphones notorious for producing a ‘closed-off’ sound.

Noise Cancellation

Bose has outdone itself with the Headphones 700, and the sophistication of the noise cancellation they provide is a big part of their appeal. Traditionally, noise-canceling headphones were designed to block out ambient noises so that you could hear your music more clearly.

The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 attempts to address this by incorporating noise cancellation into phone calls and music. According to Bose, this is possible due to an eight-microphone system, six of which enable traditional noise cancellation so you can listen to your music without interruption.

Battery Life

Bose claims that the battery life is 20 hours, which we found to be accurate; however, this number may vary slightly depending on how loud you listen; listening at higher volumes usually results in the battery draining down more quickly.

That battery life is significantly less than the Sony WH-1000XM3 noise Wireless Headphones’ 30 hours, but it’s still more than enough to get you through a few commutes or a long flight.
