Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 Finale Time Jump Memes

Published by

The confusing time leap that occurred after an important moment in the Season 4 Volume 2  finale of the blockbuster Netflix series Stranger Things is causing some of the show’s devoted followers to resort to their dry sense of humor in order to make sense of it.

A user by the name of Straight Entrance 44 submitted a meme in the StrangerThings subreddit that made fun of the fast forward that occurred in The Upside Down following the terrible death of Eddie Munson, who was played by Joseph Quinn.

In order to make fun of what is seen as insensitivity on the part of the authors, the meme smartly mixed the seconds before and after the time leap with a template of Loki saying “Yes, terribly sad.” This template has been doing the rounds recently.

It would appear that a significant number of Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 viewers are still perplexed by the continuity gap and related to the meme’s leap from the heartbreaking moment in which Eddie passed away in the arms of his friend Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), to the random scene in the Hawkins High School lunchroom in which Vickie (Amybeth McNulty) complained to Robin Buckley (Maya Hawke) about breaking up with her boyfriend.

A time leap was called “lazy writing” by the user Solarpowered-Couch, who said that it was a squandered chance to weave together a lot of emotionally complex consequences.

Megazupa expressed sympathy for the struggles that some of the authors had to endure and said that a great deal of material had to be discarded in order to bring the major characters together.

CaroSJ was furious about the time leap because they believed it deprived viewers of the chance to process important events like Eddie’s passing, Eleven’s reunion with Mike, and the continuing arcs of Max, Lucas, and Erica’s respective stories.

They pointed out that the authors skillfully negotiated similarly emotionally intense aftermath in Season 1, and they were surprised that the writers decided to opt for a time leap in Season 4.

The viewers of Stranger Things have a wide variety of thoughts and ideas on the direction they think the story should go. It is a credit to The Duffer Brothers’ amazing ability to build captivating characters and stories that bring forth such intense emotional commitment from fans of the program.

It is still unknown whether or not the conclusion of season 4 left viewers on an emotional cliffhanger that will be resolved in the first episodes of the series’ final run.

It appears that many fans of the Netflix series are still perplexed by the continuity discrepancy and identified with the meme’s jump from the tragic scene in which Eddie passed away in the arms of Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), to the arbitrary scene in which Vickie (Amybeth McNulty) complained to Robin Buckley (Maya Hawke) about breaking up with her boyfriend.

You can watch Stranger Things right now on Netflix.
