Soul Hackers 2 Will be Available in August 2022

Future role-playing video game Soul Hackers 2 was created and released by Atlus. It is the fifth game in the Devil Summoner series, which is a subset of the wider Megami Tensei brand, and the sequel to Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers (1997). It is scheduled for release on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in August 2022.

The conflict between the Yatagarasu and the Phantom Society, two rival Devil Summoner factions, is depicted in Soul Hackers 2 as occurring in the twenty-first century.

The plot centers on Ringo and Figure, two supernatural “Aion” beings that venture into the realm of humans from where they originated in the information stream in an effort to prevent a catastrophic event that they foresee will end humanity.

The battle system in Soul Hackers 2 is based on the Press Turn system found in the mainline Shin Megami Tensei games. It is a turn-based role-playing game.

In other Megami Tensei games, battles involve a party of four characters and their elemental affinities. A combination of physical strikes and magic skills that conjure demons to perform elemental attacks are used by characters as they alternate turns.

If the player is successful in taking advantage of an enemy or enemy group’s vulnerability to a specific Skill, they will be able to use the Skill “Sabbath,” which targets all vulnerable enemies in battle and causes massive damage to all of the current party members. It shares ideas with the “All-Out Attack” Skill, which is a key feature of the Persona series.

Demon encounters can also be addressed through negotiation, giving the party the opportunity to increase the demon’s desire for joining their party.

Demon fusion, which enables two or more hired demons to be fused together to create a new demon type while carrying over selected or randomized Skills from each individual demon, also enables the manual summoning of new demons.

The use of mild social simulation aspects is another characteristic that was carried over from Tokyo Mirage Sessions FE (2015) and the Persona video games.

Outside of combat, the player takes control of Ringo, the game’s main character, allowing her to freely walk the main city’s streets and stop by other attractions like stores to buy and equip new clothes, armor, accessories, and weapons that she can employ in conflict.

The player can also choose to interact with the other party members outside of battle, which deepens their friendships and unlocks particular powers that can be shared among party members in battle.

Soul Hackers 2 will be launched on 25th August 2022.
