Dying Light 2: Stay Human Review, and More

It’s paradoxical in a way that Dying Light 2 quickly puts you at ease because the setting it places you in is everything but cozy.

The game’s events take place 15 years after the virus epidemic that was the subject of the first one, and it portrays a planet in terrible shape (in a way that strikes plenty of chords after our own real-life pandemic experiences).

Aiden, the primary character in Dying Light 2, is a “Pilgrim,” one of the few brave people prepared to leave the remaining fortified cities. He is searching for his sister Mia while being haunted by memories of childhood experiments, and his research takes him to Villedor.

The GRE is the medical, quasi-paramilitary group that sprang into action to discover a cure for the viral outbreak in the original game’s Harran, but was blamed for subsequent outbreaks and chased into oblivion.

Aiden receives a GRE access key on the route to Villedor. That GRE key eventually turns becomes the game’s main plot MacGuffin because it is the only way to access anything GRE-related, which is common in Villedor.
