GigaBash Launch Date, Gameplay, Characters, and What else you need to know.

Published by

IGN Southeast Asia has been keeping a close eye on Passion Republic’s upcoming brawler GigaBash since its announcement in 2019. The game is almost ready for release three years later and has grown significantly in popularity and features.

GigaBash Launch Date

GigaBash allows players to fight in various settings, including metropolises, coastal cities, islands, and even an army base. Each venue has its own set of gimmicks, such as dense buildings that enemies can bounce around like pinballs.

Other areas are more open, allowing enemies to run around and recover. The roster is equally diverse, encompassing a wide range of kaiju archetypes.

The game, GigaBash will be released on August 5, 2022, for Windows, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

How to Play?

Steam

GigaBash, a 4-player arena brawler with kaijus and mechas from Passion Republic Games, receives a taste of new gameplay revealed during the PC Gaming Show 2021 webcast. A new map appears, and you’re fighting on the shores of Luana Island, where you can see the port town being destroyed by fighting monstrosities and a volcano erupting.

Another map is in front of a military base, with jets just smashing through a monster conflict that is still going on. Each location has its method of dealing with death.

Maintain your position in the game and use an orbital cannon or a meteor to exact revenge on the opponent who caused your early defeat. In the game, the player controls a kaiju, and they must fight each other in stages with destructible landscapes.

These creatures can launch both light and heavy attacks as well as a unique special move. They can also evade their opponents, rush through the air, and throw structures and items at them.

This Malaysian trailblazer has captivated not only Southeast Asian audiences but fans all over the world. Thanks to the game’s clear inspiration from Japanese kaiju and tokusatsu tropes seen throughout the game’s design and characters.

The Story

Steam

The chaos and ingenuity of games like Power Stone, Super Smash Bros., and War of the Monsters are combined with the jaw-dropping grandeur of classic kaiju films in GigaBash.

Choose from a wide range of Titans and Heroes, each with their own set of abilities and playstyle! Trade fists with up to four other players, hurl lightning from the sky, toss office buildings at your friends, or roll the entire district and your opponents into a single massive snowball.

If you cause enough havoc, you’ll be able to transform into your ultimate form, the terrifyingly massive S-Class. Select your battleground from various maps and locations, each with its map mechanic. Fight your enemies in densely populated cityscapes, a vacation beach resort near an active volcano, an industrial metropolis in Siberia’s heart, and more! But don’t put down your controller just yet!

GigaBash is an incredible party game, possibly the best of the year. Unfortunately, we can’t say the combat system is deep enough to justify a dedicated competitive mode. But you never know. Otherwise, this game is highly recommended for purchase when released later this year.
