Heartbreak High, an eight-episode television series that draws inspiration from the original ’90s series but has been completely recreated for a modern audience, will make its global debut on Netflix in 2022.

A revelation turns AMERIE into an outcast at Hartley High and sparks an enigmatic, very visible feud with her ride-or-die HARPER. While juggling love, s*x, and heartbreak, AMERIE must rebuild her reputation with the help of her new friends, outsiders QUINN and DARREN.

Nothing screams Australian 90s nostalgia like a Heartbreak High replay. Dear reader, there is no answer. The massively popular teen drama, which debuted in 1994 and ran for nine years with more than 200 episodes, gave young people growing up in the pre-millennium decade with coming-of-age content.

The program pushed limits in the Australian film and television industry by delving into then-taboo subjects like sexuality, teen pregnancies, and drug use. As a result, the conversation was opened up for better, less judgemental discussions.
