Power Book III: Raising Kanan Cast Members of New Season

American crime drama series ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’ is going to return with a brand new season on August 14, 2022. The series serves as the prequel and also the second spin-off of the American crime series ‘Power’ which ran from 2014 to 2020.

The setting of the plot in the 1990s and the story revolves around the way Kanan Stark got into the drug game.

The first season was released on July 18, 2021, on Starz. On Rotten Tomatoes the first season scored a 9.33 rating out of 100 with 100% approval. Patina Miller:

Kanan’s mother Raquel Thomas is played by American actress cum singer Patina Renea Miller in the series. Her breakthrough role arrived in 2009 as Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe disco diva.

From 2007 to 2008 Miller played Pam Henderson in ABC’s soap opera ‘All My Children’. In the American political drama series ‘Madam Secretary’ she was cast as Daisy Grant from 2014 to 2019.

Since 2016 she has been serving as narrator in CGI animated series ‘World Pary’. She also starred in minor roles in ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and ‘Mercy Street’. Miller portrayed Commander Paylor in ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 1’ and ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2’ in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

In 2021 she starred as Queen Isola in the crime drama movie ‘The Many Saints of Newark’.

London Brown:

Marvin Thomas, who is their uncle of Kanan, is portrayed by American actor comedian, and dancer London Brown. He played the role of D and Reggie respectively in the series ‘The Hustle’ in 2013 and in ‘Ballers’ that ran from 2015 to 2019.

He also starred in the series ‘Bronzeville’ and the films Merry Ex-Mas’ and ‘Tales from the Hood 3’.

Malcolm Mays:

Kanan’s younger uncle Lou Lou is played by an American actor and filmmaker in the series. Co-starring with Cuba Gooding Jr. Mays acted in the 2013 movie ‘Life of a King’.

In 2015 she co-starred with Rachel McAdams, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Forest Whitaker in Antoine Fuqua’s sports drama movie ‘Southpaw’ in the role of Gabe. In the first two seasons of the American crime series Snowfall,’ Mays played Kevin Hamilton from 2017 to 2018.

Joey Badass:

Joey Badass, whose real name is Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott, played the role of a character named Unique in the series. From 2016 to 2019 he starred in the recurring role of Leon in Sam Esmail’s thriller series ‘Mr. Robot’.

In 2021 Kilgore was cast in the biographical musical movie ‘Respect’ in the role of Carolyn Franklin. Her theatrical performances included ‘Our Town’, ‘Ain’t Misbehavin’, ‘Once on This Island’, and ‘Into the Woods.

Toby Sandeman:

As Symphony Bosket in the series, we see English actor and international model Toby Sandeman. From 2017 to 2018 he played the recurring role of Prince Sebastian Idrisi in the American primetime soap opera ‘The Royals’.
