Why should you buy Microsoft Surface Laptop 4?

Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 is the latest in the Surface laptop line and looks very similar to its predecessor. It has been released in April 2021. It has a sleek Microsoft design but promises more power and longer battery life. In addition, it’s worth noting that Microsoft recently released the Microsoft Surface Studio, a more powerful lightweight Surface laptop.

Microsoft Surface Laptop 4: Design

The Surface Laptop 4 is as elegant as the MacBook Air, and its unique color options broaden its appeal. It is available in four colors: Platinum, Matte Black, Ice Blue, and Sandstone. We put the Platinum model through its paces.

The thick bezels adjoining the Surface Laptop 4’s 3:2 display are a little more difficult to forget. They’re just not very appealing, and when I wasn’t concentrating on a specific task, I found myself gazing at the black bars around the screen, wishing they were smaller so I could have a little more screen space to play with.

The sound isn’t world-class, but it’s adequate for recreational media consumption. However, as sturdy as the laptop’s top is, the story of the keyboard deck is all about comfort. The keyboard and trackpad are surrounded by a nice and soft Alcantara material, as is now standard with the Surface Laptop. It makes typing much more comfortable right away because, instead of the hard metal found in most comparable laptops, it’s nice and soft.

Performance

Unless your job needed you to play Cyberpunk 2077 on high settings, Microsoft’s Surface Laptop 4 can handle almost anything you’d throw at it during an average workday. However, while the Surface Laptop 4 is powerful for a lightweight laptop, it isn’t ideal for programming. That’s not to say coders should avoid it at all costs; if you’re frequently on the go and need a comfortable laptop to type on all day, this could be the laptop for you.

However, the Surface Laptop 4 struggled with some things we threw. Nevertheless, it worked well for video streaming and music listening and was delightful for email, writing, and word processing. Opening multiple tabs were not a problem, nor was writing and streaming at the same time.

Audio

The main talking point is Dolby Atmos technology to the Surface Laptop 4’s speakers, which Microsoft claims helps the laptop deliver richer, more spatially precise sound by pumping it out from underneath the keyboard and bouncing it off the screen.

Battery Life of Microsoft Surface Laptop 4

Battery lifespan is one of the main selling points for this latest Surface Laptop, and for a good reason: while its predecessors impressed us with their elegant designs and beautiful screens, they frequently fell short of the competition in terms of how long they last on a single charge.

In our video playback test, the Surface Laptop 4 performs slightly worse, lasting 11 hours and 2 minutes. However, that’s still not bad, and it means the Surface Laptop 4 will last you through a lengthy Netflix binge.
