Cher has slammed the Supreme Court’s decision to reverse Roe v. Wade. Abortion will no longer be protected as a federal right in the United States for the first time since 1973, and each state will be able to decide whether to restrict or ban abortion on its own.
The singer revealed on Twitter that she has had several miscarriages in the past, the first when she was 18.
“When I was young, I had three miscarriages,” she wrote. 1st at 18. I was the only one in our house..”My son came home, and I was sobbing and rocking on our floor,” he wrote, explaining that SonnyBono, whom she met when she was 16 and married in 1967, was the one who discovered her.
“I was screaming in pain when I got to the doctor.” I couldn’t even get out of the elevator. “Dr. sent me straight to the hospital and into the operating room.”
In reference to Roe v. Wade, the singer added, “WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO ME TODAY?”

Abortions, as medical professionals have repeatedly stated since the Roe v. Wade decision, are a medical procedure that is sometimes required to remove fetal tissue that the body is not naturally passing after a miscarriage, according to Billboard.
Cher previously criticized the Supreme Court’s decision last month, saying, “WHEN I HEARD ROE V WADE WAS REPEALED, I COULDN’T CONTAIN MY ANGER.” STILL ANGRY, SAD, AND AFRAID FOR 4 WOMEN OF US.”
The singer then urged women to act, saying. “Every Republican Must Be Voted Out!!” she tweeted on June 27. “They Are Our Enemy, and We Are At Their Mercy.” They Mean 2 Lock Up Your Bodies & Endanger Your Lives… WE HAVE A CHANCE. WOMEN WILL SUFFER IF WE DO NOT.”
Her protests follow the reactions of other musicians to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, including Taylor Swift, who shared a letter written by Michelle Obama about the decision, and Pearl Jam, who wrote: “No one, not the government, not politicians, not the Supreme Court, should prevent access to abortion, birth control, and contraception.” People should be able to make their own decisions.
