Samsung Galaxy M13 Series Reviews, Price and Specifications

Samsung Galaxy M13 Series: Samsung has launched the Galaxy M13 series smartphones in India, broadening its budget smartphone lineup. The Galaxy M13 lineup includes 4G and 5G variants. Both phones have Auto Data Switching, RAM Plus support, 15W fast charging, and a triple rear camera setup. On the other hand, the Galaxy M13 5G is one of the country’s most affordable 5G smartphones and supports 11 5G bands.

Samsung Galaxy M13 series: Availability

Starting July 23, Samsung’s latest low-cost handsets will be available through Samsung.com, the Amazon India website, and select retail stores. Additionally, the company is providing buyers with additional discounts. As part of the deal, buyers who use ICICI Bank cards can get an additional Rs 1,000 off purchasing a Galaxy M13 smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy M13 series: Specifications

The Galaxy M13 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 system-on-chip, while a Samsung Exynos 850 SoC powers the 4G model. In addition, both smartphones include a microSD card slot for additional storage (up to 1TB). The Galaxy M13 5G has a 6.5-inch fullHD+ LCD screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz, while the Galaxy M13 has a 6.6-inch fullHD+ LCD screen with a refresh rate of 60Hz.

 

 

Display

In the Galaxy M series, there is now a low-cost phone with a Full HD screen. Samsung was in danger of being left behind by the competition in this area. However, manufacturers such as Xiaomi and Motorola are already outfitting phones in this price range with OLED displays, whereas Samsung continues to use PLS panels.

As a result, the display on the Galaxy M13 is slightly duller and has less contrast than some of its competitors.

Camera

On the back of the phone is a triple-camera system with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a depth sensor. In addition, the smartphones support Samsung’s ‘Auto Data Switching’ feature, which allows telephony services to be provided using the secondary SIM’s data even when the primary SIM is in a no-network area. A 6,000 mAh battery powers the smartphones, aided by a 15W adaptive fast wired charger in the box. The Galaxy M13 series is available in three colors: midnight blue, aqua green, and stardust brown.

The phone can record videos up to 1080p and 30 frames per second. When shooting videos, however, only digital zoom is available. In addition, the phone’s video recording capabilities, which are otherwise adequate for phones in this price range, continue to be marred by sluggish autofocus.

Connectivity, software, and usability

Compared to the Galaxy M12, the new phone has Wi-Fi 5, which is long overdue in this price range. Using the reference router Asus ROG AXE11000, we achieved consistent speeds of around 325 Mbits/s.

Samsung has installed Android 12 with their own One UI overlay on the Galaxy M13, including some design changes that allow for one-handed phone use. In many areas, Samsung uses its apps, but it has stopped preinstalling Google apps with similar functionality on top of its apps. So although the phone comes with advertising apps preinstalled, only a few exist.
